This is a good summary. I do have one obvious, rhetorical question that I haven't seen anywhere else: if Zoe Quinn slept with someone for good coverage (which has been completely debunked, that didn't happen, but still)… shouldn't the blame and ire go instead to the journalist who wrote the review? Only journalists…
I have listened to its soundtrack many times, if that counts?
You're right. There was a 6 or 7 year period where I didn't replay FFVII, and all I remembered was how dark and serious it was — Midgar, Jenova, Aeris, so on. And then when I actually replayed it, I couldn't believe how much of the weird, whimsical parts I had just forgotten.
Congratulations, from a guy who has never beat a Mega Man game!
I'm still pretty addicted to Minecraft, although I might take a break for a few days now that Aklab's Lava Palace is complete.
That sucks. I like Crystal Castles.
…or Cut Copy, one of them. I can never remember which is which since they're right next to each other in my music folder. I put them both on my phone so I could listen back to back and tell them apart, but it only further melded them in my mind.
I've got one!
It's impossible to pick. But the 600 AD overworld music. Maybe it's extra-memorable for me because the first time you hear it is when you step out into the world and realize that everything has changed.
Nooooo I was going to do work at my job today! But now I'll read this instead. I loved the series on FF6.
I recently discovered bagworms for the first time. I thought they were weird sticky pine cones until I touched one and it crawled. My second thought (after oh god I'm dying!) was LAVOS! http://www.whatsthatbug.com…
This song is hilarious and I love Mark Kozelek and his mean ol' "alcoholic hockey player" face!
This is what the inside of my head sounds like!
My controller broke as I was grinding souls in preparation for Ornstein & Smough in NG+. I took it as a sign from the universe and haven't played Dark Souls in a month.
I really, really want a PC release of XII. They're releasing XIII on PC soon, so why'd they skip over XII? It's the only one post-X that I want to play.
I love Minecraft because it can be so many types of games depending on how you play it. It can be an unsettling survival game (especially early on), a resource-management-and-expansion sim, or a world-sized canvas. I tend to play it very intensely (like in 5-hour chunks) for a few weeks and then take some time off.
After my second year of college I had a summer job cooking fried chicken in a gas station, and I became friends with a high-school kid who worked there (who also introduced me to Everquest). During my last week there he invited me to go see Lilo & Stitch with him and his girlfriend. At this point I had been up for…
Some years ago my brother-in-law brought Portal to my house to play. Not only did I have to get used to thinking with portals, it was also the first first-person title I had ever played. It must have been excruciating!
It's been all Minecraft all the time. We set up a family server that my kids and extended family all play on. Trying to finish Aklab's Lava Palace this weekend!
I have cancer.
