You're right. There was a 6 or 7 year period where I didn't replay FFVII, and all I remembered was how dark and serious it was — Midgar, Jenova, Aeris, so on. And then when I actually replayed it, I couldn't believe how much of the weird, whimsical parts I had just forgotten.

I love Minecraft because it can be so many types of games depending on how you play it. It can be an unsettling survival game (especially early on), a resource-management-and-expansion sim, or a world-sized canvas.
