Well, maybe not compared to you and me, but compared to stand-up comedians of the 70s and 80s. :P I.e., he lived through it.

Partially because we're mourning our own mortality. Partially because we're forced for a little while to drop the illusion that everyone around us is happy and OK. Someone who looks like he had his shit together a million times better than most people (successful career, loving family, clean and sober) turned out to

I hear you. My father-in-law has Parkinson's. He's a badass motherfucker who has killed a bunch of dudes (but in wars so it's OK). To hear him talk about his Parkinson's makes it sound worse than a war — he talks about how his own body is betraying him. … I guess I should give him a call

You hid that spoiler really well.

1) it is more palatable with rapid watching, and 2) drinking helps.

I just finished an Office rewatch last night. Some of the episodes in the last two seasons are surprisingly solid if you approach them with the expectation of them being pure crap, as I did.

Aklaba is a plain ol' fighter, chaotic good, just like real-life Aklab!

After a long week with virtually no time for gaming, I'm looking forward to getting back into Baldur's Gate. Question: do Imoen, Minsc/Boo, Dynaheir, Khalid and Jaheira make a viable long-term party? Asking purely for reasons of emotional investment.

Let me know if you figure it out. My family is apparently waterdeaf.

Hey-oh!(..sannah)

I think so. Both Galaxy games are among my favorite ever, and the player 2-as-helper mode made some of my daughter's earliest video game memories :)

Thanks for all the suggestions, everybody! I think I'll start with Baldur's Gate. Then hopefully I can appreciate Planescape: Torment more fully when I play it later. Now to find some free time…

I have NSLU too — I'll have to give it a try. NSMBU isn't a bad game. I mean, the level design is good, music is good, new power-ups are used interestingly, etc. It's a solid, fun, game — just no real surprises so far. Really looking forward to playing 3D World though.

Question for y'all! I didn't have a computer in the 90s, and apparently missed out on a lot of great cRPGs. I bought GOG's big D&D bundle, with Baldur's Gate, Planescape, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, and a bunch of other stuff. If I could only play one of those games, what would give me the best introduction to

Wario Ware ended up being the game I played most on Wii. Still play it sometimes! I'm looking forward to trying it on Wii U.

I'll be playing Wii U! Surprisingly have not tired of playing Nintendo Land with the kids yet, which is good, since I don't have any other games (other than the NSMB pack-in, which, eh…). And I have no money. Steam sales and Humble Bundles have really spoiled me, so console game prices seem crazy now.

Just reading this headline brought me back to middle school when my sister and I would listen to this album while playing guitar and video games…

Question for the commentariat: I have the giant DND CRPG bundle from GOG. I have never played any of the games in it (Planescape, Baldur's Gate 1+2, Neverwinter Nights 1+2, Icewind Dale, Temple of Elemental Evil,… uh, some other stuff probably). Which one of these would be my best introduction to the genre?

Well, dammit. I assumed they did, as it was on the Wii's virtual console, but it looks otherwise after checking Wikipedia.

Of those, I'd get it on the 3DS or Wii U e-shop. I think the version on PSN is a port of the PS1 version, with terrible load times thrown in.
