I would guess the scene called for Alec to point a gun at the camera, with the DP behind it and the director standing next to it. But there should have been someone verifying the safety of that prop gun before it was ever handed to the actor.
Julia Duffy got 7 Emmy nominations for that show and lost every time. Such a travesty.
He did 3 episodes of Family Ties — the 2-part episode “The Fugitive,” where he was a fugitive from justice for embezzlement, and “Say Uncle,” where he was struggling with an alcohol problem. So, you’re both right :)
That could only be more perfect if Christopher Walken had shown up at some point.
They didn’t change all that much about the plot or the music. I think Rich just hated the Broadway show, which makes him a kind of odd choice to write about the film version.
I was frankly expecting the movie to be a complete train wreck, and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it overall. But Ben Platt’s hair and makeup were atrocious and only served to make him look older.
Sadly, if they’d arrested her, it might have wound up saving her life.
