In the words of Carrie Fisher’s character in When Harry Met Sally..., “You’re right, you’re right. I know you’re right.”

Ugh, exactly. Thankfully my parents were both flaming liberals and no one in my immediate family leans in the crazy direction (at least not politically crazy :), but damn, there are a ton of people out there who are just not living in the same world as the rest of us.
Yeah. Lately I’ve been trying to just ignore him when he responds to something I’ve said with one of his hellaciously misinformed rants, because there’s really no point. But it’s hard not to take the bait.
Right? I sometimes engage in pointless online arguments with the husband of a FB Friend, and this dude doesn’t believe in anyone or anything. Doesn’t trust “The Government,” doesn’t trust “The Media,” doesn’t trust any source I have ever cited. I don’t know how he gets through life.
My mom went through the ruptured colon-colostomy-reversal surgery thing years ago. She handled it pretty well, but was definitely happy when it was time to have everything reconnected! Best wishes to you.
“Not blond”?
If I remember correctly, she chose the designers (David and Elizabeth Emanuel) herself and worked with them on it to some extent.
I actually thought Diana looked worse on her wedding day than in any other photos I’ve ever seen of her. Not only was the dress awful, but her hair was flat/limp and she looked wan and tired. I was not surprised when we learned later that she didn’t sleep the night before.
I assume Frances McDormand will play her in the movie version.
And some of those people are women! I can’t even fathom.
I think your cousin accidentally sent you a package intended for me ;-)
I agree with your larger point, but I assume you’re referring to when men write articles about the rape of women? Men can be rape victims as well.
I have that same issue! I have had to re-learn the rules of every single card game I’ve ever played, no matter how many times I’ve played it previously.
Haven’t seen that one! I think he’s a perfectly competent actor, I just think he’s maybe better than that as a director and writer.
The Town got some Academy recognition, too! (Best Supporting Actor nod for Jeremy Renner).
I almost shot Hawaiian Punch through my nose at “Sure, Bran.” Kudos!
The only fly in the ointment that is George Clooney (terrible metaphor, but I just woke up) is his fondness for “pranks.” The litter box one was especially asinine. C’mon George, give up the pranks and be 100% perfect already!
Here in Los Angeles, they’re dangling chances of winning season tickets to the Lakers or “Hamilton” tickets at certain vaccination sites. I fully support bribery if it does the trick!
Same — I saw the headline and actually said out loud “Wait, Dr. Ruth is still alive?!”
Same! I saw it 4 times in theaters and had to cancel a pre-purchased ticket for #5 because the theater shut down the night before. Delightful film.
