TL;DR: It’s not so much about the price of the item, it’s about how easy it is to resell these items. Mundane items are easier to sell and therefore gets stolen more.

I thought most Lego statues like this are glued, or at least have some sort of protective film on it? I can’t imagine Legoland still operating if they just leave statues hang around like that.
