Sorry, daughter of a midwife going to rant now. . .

It was totally worth reading that article because it presented me with the link to this: [www.dailymail.co.uk]

I sure hope nobody buys anything special for my latke party, because I'm buying 20 pounds of potatoes and a liter of olive oil and probably won't have enough forks for all the guests.

I'd like to nominate my grandfather who recently passed away. He's a bit different from the other men I've seen mentioned in that he was never anywhere close to being a feminist.

@nobodyr: Total creep. Totally want to marry him though.

"So where my girlfriend might hear me call her a certain pet name my friend might listen to me saying that yeah, I would really like to see that girl in the corner of the bar with her bra off, on top of me". . .

I mean. . .the only valuable insight I gained from the Da Vinci Code is that the majority of western architecture and symbolism in general is composed of really, really big penises. Everywhere.

I've thought a lot about how these kinds of moments stick to you like crazyglue. . .I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning but I have this intensely vivid catalogue in my head of things that have been said that damaged my body image.

@paddlepickle: I mean, shit! This headline might as well read "Democratic governance may prevent child abuse".

Decriminalizing child porn wasn't the only major change the Czech government implemented in 1989; that's the year of the Velvet Revolution, when the Soviets lost power and they began to implement an entirely new system of democracy.

@bwabwabwa: Why indeed. . .I've asked myself that question many times, doesn't change anything :)

This is why I love online dating. I went on my 'first date' (with someone I hadn't already hooked up with) this summer, and I sort of thought I would hate it. But now I think it's really fun, and it's refreshing to know you can get to know someone outside the aquaintance-drunken hookup-relationship progression.

Um. . .I'm pretty sure her arms only smaller in the 'after' picture because the camera is positioned farther back. But I bet this sells for more than a long sleeved white t shirt!

Ugh. When I was 8 or so I went on a backstage tour at Lincoln Center where we met a bunch of the female dancers. Someone asked about their nutrition and they went into this big spiel about how they have to eat healthy but eat a lot since they exercise so much, and barely drink or do drugs. . .

@divinelioness: Second the "communication with exes". Though I worry that column would confirm my fears that it's not 100% healthy to go to my ex's family Thanksgiving dinner and sleep in the same bed whenever he's in town. . .

"Though it should be noted: In Lord Of The Rings, the good guys — especially the elves — are pale, ethereal, light-skinned creatures, while the bad guys are dark-skinned."

And a complementary post on how do deal with your f-ing insane landlord, please.
