The Fiesta was far from a "pale competitor" to the VW Rabbit.
I had a friend in colleg who said he could make ANY vehicle work for him... he said if he drove an AMC Gremlin, he could make it work to his advantage.
I owned one of these... the seats were SOOOO comfertable, the speedometer one of those cool RIBBON styles, the shift lever the longest in the business save for a VW bus, and the ignition connected to the coil as one piece and cable enclosed for security.
Our Nissan Maxima (circa 90)would open all the windows and the sunroof if you held the unlock button on the keyfob as you approached the car... no more summertime broiling interior as you sat down in the car.

Well, maybe I'm the only one, but I kinda like the chunkier front end. The previous Liberty was CUTE. Uggh.
That new Tribeca face looks Hyundai-licious.
The photo in the Imprezza gallery is of the next Tribeca face... not the Forester as I'd guessed.
There's nothing more Reatta-licious than a white convertable with blood-red interior... just makes me want to go golfing in my plaid pants with Dean Martin.
In the Gallery section there are two exterior photos (both the same, both of TWO vehicles) that are clearly NOT the Imprezza... they look far more like, could it be... the next
