Your argument is flawed. Marking up an item 250% is price gouging and should be illegal. It is on some things. There is NO discount that balances these ridiculous mark ups. I was trying to buy a minivan and dealers were marking 36k MSRP vans to 70. Remind me when I could buy one for half again? It never balances out.

The challenger starts at 32 grand. This car isn’t 400 grand special.

I’m sure they’ll make that SUV version not too far out much like the X and Y followed.

Oh that’s cute.  You think all those trucks are being driven because of their practicality?

Why would they pull the plug? Tesla’s early lifecycle sales are all about vanity and nothing is going to get you more attention than driving around in a Cybertruck. People are going to line up to get these because people are desperate for attention.  It’s a great sales strategy for Tesla.

I wonder if there’s a point where they pull the plug. This thing is going to make the Model S look like a sales champ, and I honestly wonder what would devalue Tesla stock more: gutting the Cybertruck entirely, or two years of low sales before cancellation?

It looks like a prop from the late 70's sci-fi show Logan’s Run.

I bet it’s pretty much the opposite of that. It might go the way of the Model S/X, where sales hold great until the market gets saturated. The draw of this isn’t that it’s a truck (so it probably won’t pull in a lot of F-150 buyers), but that it’s ridiculously quirky and futuristic, the way people 30 years ago

Likely just an early pre-production prototype that they wrapped for fun. If you look at some of the other Cybertrucks that have been spotted in public lately, all of these fitment issues seem to be fixed. For example look at the tailgate alignment of this Cybertruck spotted on a trail:

Look, I’m not a Tesla Stan but:

Now a COYOTE on roller skates on the other hand...that could only end well.

I think it’s overpriced as well, but battery degradation in Teslas is actually very well managed, on average:

LOLMAO!!! now THIS is some EPIC WIN!! It is so EPIC and f******** hilarious when people continue to talk like they did on Reddit 10 years ago!!! Wow, just.....wow. Grumpy cat!!! I censor my curse words for some reason!!! EPIC BACON!!! FIRIN’ MY LAZORSS!!! And *heh* even....wait for it....Doge! Oh yeah! Much Tesla,

1-2 GALLONS? Can a gas tank really take that much more gas after the gas pump shuts off?

Of course they charged you, what were you thinking? You’re supposed to fill up your briefcase and put a lil gas in your pockets to top it up, ya know, for the road!

Hotels do the same. I never understood why the fuck they wouldn’t just take the extra revenue checking out early provides (it’s not like they’re being asked to refund the unused nights) and run. Even if demand isn’t super heavy, they still come out at break-even if not slightly ahead because of the variable costs

Maybe because normal tire squealing is drowned out by the vroom vroom noises so the author doesn’t know that’s normal.

For fear of sounding like a Tesla fan boy, where is the struggling? A couple tire squeals? That’s it?

I believe the reference is to repair work.

^^^This guy gets it. He only left out insurance costs for EVs. Manufacturers kill off cheap cars, only ship EVs with 100s of miles of range, high base prices and bonkers horsepower and dealers are allowed to add their own arbitrary markups without any guardrails whatsoever. Now that we’ve reached the bullshit
