(waits for the inevitable Netflix announcement)
This raises an interesting conundrum. Michonne was introduced with the fact that a couple of zombies in tow rendered her undectable to other zombies. So if you're completely surrounded by zombies, why are you still detectable?
I thought she left because she was more weirded out than she was letting on.
I always thought NIN's Hurt was a masterpiece.
I wish they'd found a way to make it SoPaDoPa
yeah, etymologically it doesn't work since it still has "gyn" in it. Mistransyny?
It's supposed to stand for South of Downtown South Park. That's what the capitalization is for with these neighborhoods, like SoHo in nyc means South of Houston (street.) So the way they did capitalize it can only mean they were making a joke out of that too. Sharp guys.
and for doing so, I risk being branded as transmisogynyst. That's my *only* point, and I believe it was South Park's as well (and in fact that's exactly what happened in the post that started this thread.)
I stand corrected!
Hey, thanks for completely dodging my point to find an excuse to yell at me (not to mention the fact that I DID share my opinion, fool.) The show was not being transogynistic, and the fact that it's accused of being so exactly proves the point they were trying to make.
Fair enough (he said a month later.)
Yeah, I corrected it right after I posted it. Thanks!
I'd put it differently: I'd say that for some of us, the show is enjoyable enough on its own merits. And yes, there's definitely room for improvement.
I don't think the show is guilty of 'transmisogyny' (hey, new word!) so much as it's trying to point out the forced acceptance of one trans person in particular. I found latter-day Bruce Jenner to be grotesque from all the overdone plastic surgery before all this, and her transformation didn't change that. So I don't…
NO no no no no no no.
Peter Cetera also sang "25 or 6 to 4"!

You lost me at "prone to awkward five-dollar-word usage". I'm STILL recovering from my aborted attempt to watch Lady In The Water.
Setting aside your snark, it seems odd to insist that it bothers you because it seems to be aiming for something other than what YOU expect it to be. It has elements of satire and if that's all it were aiming for, I agree it would be weak. But it is tremendously enjoyable if you take it on its own terms.
