So, the car has 200k on the clock and needed a new drivetrain at the 100k mark. I’m getting a sense of why it is being offered for sale. ND

A Jeepster from Italy? Doesn’t get more OG Jalop than that. NP
“If you don’t commute 300 miles a day you don’t need an EV with 300 mile range” is getting to be a pretty tiresome excuse. It’s been pathetically cold this week and I’m guessing a car with 196 miles of ideal range would maybe have 130 miles in the tank at these temps. So my 275 mile drive to the next state would…
Yes, your Tesla is faster than my Volvo from 0-60. But from 0-350 miles (distance to my new grandchild) any crude farm machine will get there sooner. Also: while the Tesla’s interiors may not be “crude”, they are a few steps behind where they should be for the price.
The leaf is only the worst if money is no object.

But about 1 in 4 Americans live in an apartment, so yes, it’s a big deal. Also: Indiana is not cold. Minnesota is cold.
Why do they even need the camo disguise? It’s not like anyone sees these things anyway.
Fair enough. But the Catera sucked too.
Ah yes-my mistake; Cimarron. I had forgotten.

Given that the writer is coming out of a VW CC I’m guessing he may be one of the people who would question reliability. Along with anyone else who has ever owned a VW post-warranty.
“If you like simplicity and no clutter, then their interiors are the best” No, that would be Volvo.
This. It took F1 a decade or more to finally acknowledge that apartheid in South Africa was a bad thing; let’s hope there are still a few moral souls left in the sport.
I would be happy enough to see this teenager on the road. In a car. Not in a broken plane.
The army air corps operated from 1926 to 1941. Even though you could enlist at 17 or 18, you were likely not a teenager by the time you completed training. The modern military won’t let teenagers anywhere near the pilot’s seat. Because planes are really expensive. And dangerous.
1) I have never safely crashed an airplane
Um, the kid’s response (per the article) was to call his mom on his cellphone while trying to fly a plane dead stick. Also this, from the Guardian: “While he noticed the telephone wires running alongside the highway, Peters said, he did not realize until later that there were also wires crisscrossing the highway every…
