Yes, your Tesla is faster than my Volvo from 0-60. But from 0-350 miles (distance to my new grandchild) any crude farm machine will get there sooner. Also: while the Tesla’s interiors may not be “crude”, they are a few steps behind where they should be for the price.

I never learn. I give in and buy a VW every 8-10 years, when I am reminded once again how much of a pain they are. Last one (I mean it this time!) was a TDI Jetta wagon. Which was great! Until it wasn’t.

Given that the writer is coming out of a VW CC I’m guessing he may be one of the people who would question reliability. Along with anyone else who has ever owned a VW post-warranty.

The army air corps operated from 1926 to 1941. Even though you could enlist at 17 or 18, you were likely not a teenager by the time you completed training. The modern military won’t let teenagers anywhere near the pilot’s seat. Because planes are really expensive. And dangerous.

I’m only barely OK with teenagers driving cars (SUVs/Pickups-there are no more cars, sorry). A hard no when it comes to letting them hurtle through space in a ton of metal and witchcraft.
