Ugly as fuck; check engine light will come on on the way home.

Tom McP has the right answer I think. S-60s (and V-60s) are still overlooked by enthusiasts but tick most of this guy’s boxes: they depreciate like crazy making them cheap enough, they will last 10 years while only bending (not quite breaking) the bank, and are quick enough most of time while still being pretty comfy.

The buildings, cars, people and some trees are made of bricks, but the earth and roads are just sort of not; this is disappointing somehow.

745, not 740- please.

Me too- all of the excited guessing about which real car is being represented with bricks suggests that bricks are, in fact, not a great way to make model cars.

Hellcat vs Alanis’ cat was pretty much my fav Jalop thing. I am probably biased

To be clear: I do not still own or regularly drive every car I’ve ever had, so it is quite possible that all the cars I had in the 1980s now have broken clocks. TBH I’m not sure my ‘83 GTI had a working clock or not; I was distracted by all the other dash warning lights.

There is a Nissan “Fairlady” that parks near me and I love the re-badge; I say go for it. Out of curiosity, what did you cross shop? I recently got a CPO Volvo V-60 Cross-Country (because V-60 non-cross-country with AWD was hard to find). Now I’m wondering if I should have waited for the Opel.

Why do so many of these NPOCP offerings feature a non-working clock? I’ve never had a clock failure in all my years (over 40) of driving. It’s not like the technology is new. Germany is like, right next door to Switzerland and all of that clock-making magnificence-c’mon it’s a damn clock! Oops- sorry for that rant;

“How many people get to say they own a Geo?”

An Audi A4 Avant or Subaru Outback of the same era goes for half. Why would I want this?”

Yes, for science this must be done. Also: come visit Minnesota- slow-speed winter hooning at it’s finest.

The Headline says “A Whole F1 Car Would Have Crashed Into This Guy’s Head”. The report says “ front wing endplate would have just contacted Leclerc’s visor”

Happy to have the halo, but not sure the HEADLINE is supported by the report:

This is too bad, if inevitable. Recent LeMans rules have dictated the number of laps allowed before a team must stop for fuel, thus eliminating creative strategies for economy. If the rules also govern the maximum HP (along with aero and weight, no doubt), I’m not sure where the “competition” part of the race will

Watch Top Gear much?

I expect them to get the money from wherever the “W” series money comes from. To Quote Alanis King from the earlier Jalopnik story:

“As soon as you figure out how to get people paying for one thing to take something don’t want but to keep them paying, let us know”

Is the male ego SO fragile (and the racing fraternity so macho) that so much $$ must be spent protecting it?
