Filled out the paperwork, still waiting (more than 10 days) for my letter. Was really hoping VW would make me a great offer on a new car, but nope- it’s as if they have already written me off. By comparison Volvo has reached out to me as a possible TDI conquest sale, and I even got a card from a Hyundai dealer in a…
This is, in fact, a loaner from the dealer I use regularly-I have borrowed 3Borton and 2 Borton (s-60s) but not this-good grief! FWIW, this dealer is pretty good as Volvo fixing places go.
Sure, but on two wheels. So really it’s only 3.5 championships for Rossi
Lancia. Runs (some of the time). Under $2500. Why even do the poll? Actually, why even do any poll about anything. Ever again. Will this thing run as long as it takes to get to the Canadian border?
I want to see the birth certificate for every one of these Toyotas. The LONG form.
Jason- When not reading Jalop I am a painting professor at an art school. The reference to John Everett Millais is priceless. The art/design references do not go unnoticed- you guys are awesome.
1) Panamera is definitely an “acquired taste”
Hmmm- the expert choices seem more like the answer to : “I’m moving to Oklahoma! and want to blend in with the locals- which F150 should I buy?”
V8 rear wheel drive Volvos!
V8 supercars manages to mix NASCAR (which is boring) and F1 (also, sadly, has become dull) into something truly amazing and watchable. Bonus: racing on two wheels- so good:
Right? How many vehicles of any type are worth $17K with this many miles?
Heats slowly, conducts poorly, weighs as much as Jupiter. Bonus: expensive, a pain to clean, and you can’t even use it until you do witchcraft. Sorry, you can keep your Flintstones cookware.
Pretty much anything you can rent at the airport. My recent “midsize” rides:
never heard of it
I can find no fault in this list; this is one of my fav Jalop features.
Great post. I am a TDI owner and am slightly torn. Not withstanding the guilt and shame of killing the planet, the car itself has been very good. My rule of thumb is not to sell a car unless it’s rusty or unreliable and my Jetta is neither. But, the (court ordered) offer from VW is too good to pass up- to my mind it…
Seriously, what question would this car be the answer to? “what’s the most money I could pay for a 1984 Chevy Celebrity?” “What’s the least interesting car on Craigslist?” “Everyone says those 80's cars were shitty, but what do they know?” CPCPCP
