Yes! I just placed the 101st (and tie breaking!) vote! Other than that, I’m not too excited about an old VW with no A/C. And yeah, the teardrops facing different ways would bug the heck out of me too.

Never driven one, but don’t doubt it’s fantastic. But attractive, not so much. And that’s a problem. With a price north of 40K for a small car, it really can and should look great too.

This thing is sort of unsurprising. A Jaguar XKE made of wood? that would be cool! A Woody, made of even more wood? not so much. Maybe if the engine and tires were also wood?

I usually park between Melvin’s AMG and Doug’s SUV. At least if I get scratched, it will be by paint that is of a much higher quality than what’s on the car now. Bonus: all cars are the same color now (a sort of silvery grey beige metallic charcoal) so no color-match issues either.

The current F1 qualification system was one of the (only) good things about the series. On many recent F1 weekends the Q1/Q2/Q3 sessions were the highlight, followed on sunday by ONE EXCITING LAP and then a 100 minute wait for an entirely predictable result.

How much of this was surprising on any level? Everyone is playing a role: Rock is charged with making the movie industry seem less white. Audience laughs on cue at (ever-so-slightly!)“edgy” jokes. Every year the core message of the Oscars is “buy movie tickets”.

But perceptions can be changed: When I was younger (and mastodons roamed the earth blah blah) only plumbers had Chevy suburbans and pickup trucks were spartan things that farmers drove. Doug’s right everything can by luxed.

This has long been my least-favorite part of my favorite sport. I’m pretty sure that no matter how underfunded, if some kid in the US could hit 3-pointers all day, he would end up in the NBA. The same can’t be said for any level of motorsport.

This was the year I turned 16. I had totally forgotten this car. What a dreadful thing, at a time when you could also buy a VW Rabbit. The Rabbit was pretty poorly put together (my family had one), but man was it fun to drive. Nobody ever had fun driving a Chevette.

What, actually is a “Luxury Truck”? Is it a class of vehicles that is widely recognized? Or are we pretty much saying “if it costs more than 50 grand, it’s a luxury, even if it resembles a plumber’s van”. I’m not judging- I really want to know the answer.

I own a 2010 Jetta TDI wagon. I will definitely accept VW’s offer of something at some future time to compensate me for some sort of thing.
