Interesting. I drove all around Europe (including rental cars) for 3 years without an IDP. I did hear of it but didn’t know any non-Europeans who went that extra few steps to actually get one.

I guess you could say “all Citroens”, really. Then again, nearly every mid-size car in the US and Europe has sported the Citroen front end look since at least 2008. (I can’t figure out how to make the “e” look funny. Sorry. )
“sticker plus $2,000 for an “appearance package.” Huh?”
There is something about a no-option-added Jeep Wrangler that no other car company is willing to match. A bare bones Jeep Wrangler is solid. Squeaky, & noisy, but solid. It don’t break. Well, none of ours have without over 150k of use. Not gonna see that from GM, Ford, or anyone else. Too bad. A solid car without all…
“First Blood”, the movie is based on “First Blood”, the book, which I happened to read first somehow (back in the 70’s, I think) before ever seeing the movie. I did not remember that Rambo died in the book.
I drove my BMVay 128 from Baltimore to DC once (1-70 to I-495) which is all downhill) and got ~32-35 mpg. Then I went from College Park to Chantilly, VA and my average mpg was back to whatever it generally was, which meant it got less than average from there to Chantilly. (somewhere around 22mpg, I think. Sold it a…
Well, I was a Chiefs fan since the day they arrived there as I grew up in KC. (Now in DC, since 1989.) When the Chiefs seasons sucked, the fans changed to empty seats. (Having a decent rich owner did help.) After the Derrick Thomas/Art Still era, they were just awful. I finally gave up on them in 2014, they, of…
I always wondered the same thing. I would guess but am guessing not. I was actually in the Navy but have no idea if subs are attached to Carrier groups. I was on the Kitty Hawk (CV-63), a sister ship to the ship in the above photo. I only spent about a year on her before being reassigned to a school.
I always feel like, in a big city, one more small lump in a big pile. However, in a small city, one can feel too connected when the folk you just must interact with are just jerks (or worse). (Been there both ways.) I think the best medium town I ever lived in (and it has its issues, too) was Winchester, VA, in the…
Someone in the DC Metro system needs to go hire (kidnap, SOMETHING) those Indian Engineers in #7. They absolutely have no clue how to build, maintain, or run a Metro system. It is just beyond belief how poor the DC Metro system is. And it’s getting worse, fast. So sad.
When the people in the left lane are often going 40 mph (~60kph) faster than your car in the right two lanes, it’s just life preservation! First day I drove there, I was doing 80 mph (~125kph) in a BMVay 128 when I was passed by 3, repeat 3, smart-car sized wagons, like I was simply standing still. The other amazing…
Sorry. Disagree. The crazy thing is that you think the way you act is going to make you happy. It hasn’t so far, so why would you think it will? Life is too short to hang out with folk with your attitude.
“6.) There are two bunk rooms with three bunks apiece in the crew compartment, several sections of seats, a bathroom and a kitchen with fridge and oven.”
You assume he is not immortal. I wish he were. I also do wish my team, the Nats, would get rid of their “color” man and just let Carpenter play.
Also, on the subject of trade-in value, last weekend, my wife traded in a 2012 Jeep Wrangler with zero options and 13000 miles (if that). All we did was get it detailed prior to trade-in. Got 100% Blue Book. CarMax just drooled all over that car. (So we probably could’ve got more, but the wife was happy, which is…
Say I agree with you (which I do). We all have our favorite extra. (Mine happens to be power windows.) So, go to your favorite car company’s site, go and do the car-builder thingy, and then go search any of that car company’s local dealer’s inventories for a car with even a similar configuration. Good luck. Your…
In a million years, of the things that you did in this life, the only thing that will matter still is the love you shared while you were here.
AND, rumor has it, that a new Conan movie w/Arnold is in the making.
Totally agreed. The scene in Conan the Destroyer where he fights the statue [Dagobah (sp?)] is a pure-delightful classic. (Was it stop-motion animation?) As good as anything ever done by Harryhausen (imo), if so. We need more Conan movies!
If your statement is any indication of your ability to form an intelligent conclusion, then “Yup”. That’s all I can go by.
