@danyvatt: People's perception of the cost and the actual cost are different issues, though. For the $30/month data plan that comes with most smartphones, you could buy a full DS game. That being said, I agree that a download shop akin to the App Store / Steam would be greatly in Nintendo's interests to create.

@GeneralMeow: It goes way back before Flash games. My father programmed a tank-buster game for his graphing calculator decades ago that played very similar to Angry Birds.
