FTFY. Until we start taking these settlements out of police pensions, they have zero incentive to do anything differently.

This is the first show in a long time where I cry about it more thinking about the moments the day after than I do when I watch it. Joel’s “baby girl” didn’t reach me till Monday. I miss shows like this.
This is my concern, whether Trump endorses/campaigns for him or not. There are a lot of Republicans who don’t like Trump but who will find DeSantis a whole lot less objectionable because accomplishes the same hateful agenda that Trump and the base wants, without saying the quiet part out loud.
I can be slow, but it must have been the guy’s performance...somehow the “grooming” part didn’t occur to me until right about when it was revealed, great work, yeesh yuck!
We think David is being gentle and fatherly with Ellie because he’s a man of god and doesn’t want to harm anyone.
If DeSantis wore those in public in Tennessee he’d be committing a felony! Won’t someone please think of the children!?
I feel like the skit would have worked better if whatever they used to make the fake tear’s wasn’t as clumsy. But, yes, a lot of Heidi’s work is adding depth to characters in a five minute skit
“Abby” might not have worked as a sketch, but what I love about Heidi’s work is that she consistently gives performances - not just “sketch performances,” but committed work, both physically and vocally. I think she’s the best actress in the cast right now.
Heidi is a Chiefs fan, so it makes sense they’d use her more with Kelce, especially in those dating sketches. They had a good time leaning into the ‘himbo’ vibe.
I just rewatched Relic. I don’t understand why it doesn’t get more love. I mean, it’s not great, but it’s fun, and gross, and he’s pretty good in it. It’s no worse than a lot of horror movies that have come out lately; I’d argue it’s better than many of them.
“What do you say we slip into a room and you two split me open...like a coconut?”
The way he delivers that line never fails to make me laugh.
Iconic. Rarely has “mind your own fucking business” been communicated so effortlessly and effectively. I’ve seen so many actors try to do the silent intimidating thing, and just doesn’t usually work.
The rare times he was a leading man he was always terrific - particularly Relic. Heat has an all timer of cast (not just the main roles, it’s peppered with the best character actors working in their day) and he was one of the memorable ones. That scene in the diner where he just stares at someone is tremendous
I don’t know how to explain it, but I’d rather watch a 9-part series about a gruesome, brutal serial killer than 20 minutes listening to a phone call with a pedophile.
FEDRA is producing at least some items like batteries. Joel also mentions rumors of a factory producing Oxy and other things in ep. 1.
If you loved this episode and episode 3, you should binge Station 11 right now. Every week was an episode 3 and 7.
I reckon the reason for the Ellie’s inconsistent palate for booze is this was real, properly brewed liquor, where as the stuff Joel was swiggin’ back was most certainly moonshine.
• Has that slow clicker noise always been at the end of the recaps? So eerie.
Good grief, props to the set design. That was exceptional. No Orange Julius or Cinnabon kind of shattered the verisimilitude but hey we’ll let that go.
