Chicago’s property tax priced me out of a good neighborhood, so after renting 3 years and saving I bought in close North suburb where some childhood friends had moved in earlier and it was the best thing I could do. Am 10 minute drive to city, close to rail or CTA.

I thought that as well but my last two apartments with great landlords and affordable rents sold their properties and kicked me out.

Like I heard on Twilight Zone somewhere, “The firing squad is for followers, not the leaders”. They deserve something worse.

I lost my son of seven to cancer 3 years ago. It took therapy starting this past January to be able to say his name, or clean out his room, or cry with my wife. We actually celebrated his birthday this past Spring instead of mourning it and this Christmas we have decided to decorate like we used to.

The little shoe getting dipped by Judge Doom hurt allot.

My then 6 year old sneaked out of his bedroom and watched the entire church massacre scene of Kingsman before we noticed him hiding under the dining room table.
