@JoetheArachnid: You know that an iPod is no different than a generic MP3 player you can get from dozens of other manufacturers? Apple puts a 300% markup and locks other MP3 players out of iTunes. How is this different?

@gurfinki: The larger the user base, the lower the PERCENTAGE you would expect to find online. The more "mainstream" something is, the less likely a particular feature will be used. Luke's assumption that the builtin wifi is the reason the PS3 has a higher percentage is just wrong. The Wii has builtin wifi and it…
@Deanb: Nvidia's 3d kit uses generic active shutter lcd glasses that sync with an IR emitter like the majority of active shutter glasses on the market. People have made both universal emitters and glasses that work with any IR emitter. All the glasses look for is an IR signal going "Left-Right-Left-Right..." It's…
@Xagest: Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!
@Altima NEO: The fact that it doesn't have two screens is a point in favor of it being authentic (or at least close to a final design). Wouldn't most fan speculations about a Nintendo 3DS have two screens? Wouldn't that be obvious? Nintendo can always claim that 3DS means "3D System" instead of "3 Dual Screens"…
@fuchikoma: You can already use fat32 usb drives for non-360 files on the 360 as well. The PS3 limits all game files (like installs) to be on the internal drive. With this USB update, you can install games on an external USB device so now the 360 is actually more flexible than the PS3.
@fuchikoma: He's comparing an MSRP to a discount price. Go look on Amazon, most 16gb usb sticks have an MSRP of $70+, so the 360-branded aren't anymore expensive- Gamestop is just not showing a discount for the item yet.
@Curiously Flamboyant Sheep: And you get a quality n-router compared to the crappy built g-router in the PS3 and Wii. Seriuosly, if you want a good streaming experience (and don't want Netflix stuttering like crazy) or you have more than one ethernet device near your tv, you should by a single wireless router and…
Geez, Luke. How about comparing apples to apples? If you look on Amazon, you'll see most 16gb have an MSRP of $70+. Gamestop sells all its accessories and pre-orders at the MSRP (unless they have a rare sale). You're comparing the discount prices at places like NewEgg and Amazon to an MSRP. If anything, these…
@Archaotic: Ironic. About 30 years ago Sony was in front of a judge arguing that the movie and tv companies had no right to ask for an injunction against the sale of its VCRs. Sony's position was that it was unfair to punish legitimate users of VCRs just because they could be used (and were being used) to create and…
@ShaughnTr0n: You get 10 minutes once per game but you don't have to use it the first time you download. I have tons of games I haven't tried yet (most of the Intellivisions) that still have the demo option available. If you start the demo time and then exit out of the game room, yes you do lose the balance of the…
@TraMaI: If you buy it, you don't have to use tokens on it again. Also each game comes with a free 10 minute demo. More than enough time to know if a game is worth revisiting or owning.
@ShaughnTr0n: You also get 20 free tokens from the start AND each game has a free 10 minute demo (although that might only be for Gold members). 10 minutes is more than enough to know if the game is worth buying or ever playing again. Considering the minimum Nintendo charges for an NES (not even an arcade version)…
@FoxKit: Yes, how dare customers complain about the removal of a feature that was in the console they originally paid money for and Sony listed as an advantage of their console. Why on earth would someone expect a listed feature of their own hardware remain supported as long as they used the hardware. PS3- it used…
@Ouisch: I more remember hearing the Space Ace machine shouting "Help Dexter to regain his manhood!"
"it's managed to survive five years, which is more than we can say for any other non-Nintendo handheld gaming system." Actually the Atari Lynx was manufactured and sold from 1989 to 1996. While the PSP has sold more than the Lynx, at least we all the Lynxes were bought and used to play actual games...
So unlike with the Wii/Nunchuck, instead of one controller running out of batteries at an inopportune time, each player now has to worry about two batteries that could be fail during play. I wouldn't call that a bonus. Plus swappable batteries are a good thing when they prevent you from having to play tethered.
@Alex_Mexico: It's better because 1) You can just use regular rechargeables 2)If you buy the quickcharge kit (either Microsoft's or a third party's), you can always have a battery pack or two at the ready that you can just swap in literally five seconds. With the PS3, when you run out of charge, you are forced to…
