I have used streaming in my house when I’m not using the TV so I am literally the target demographic for this and I still don’t understand why it exists. If they put out a first-party Dualshock controller that could hold a phone like the Backbone, that would make sense.

Yup. Like, literally all they would need to do is release a first-party Dualshock controller that snaps onto a phone and they’d have a more cost-effective and more desirable product for most people.

Was definitely weird when I read “You can see what I’m talking about below” and then seeing the related content video with the dad and kid playing Skyward Sword.

I mean, there are reasons but none of them are good. It sucks!

I think EA’s future is going to depend greatly on how the shift from “Fifa” to “EA FC” goes. If they can maintain the same momentum and ridiculous revenue from stuff like Ultimate Team when they no longer have the Fifa brand name, they’ll probably be fine, but if their biggest moneymaker sees a significant hit then

I mean, look: FAIR. But I do also think if Microsoft has Call of Duty there’s much less of an argument for them to put too much time into series like Halo or Doom or Wolfenstein or any other FPS series they have. Sure, the current Xbox leadership seems to care about the fact that these series have fans and don’t need

I basically only know that guy because he was on an episode of Talking Simpsons but if that’s what he’s known for, then... yes!

I think it was the Diablo team, but yeah, same difference. What a waste of a talented studio that had literally just put out a hit that they could have continued building on.

I mean, I read this from your post:

That second picture gives off significant The Alliance of Magicians vibes:

It’s ultimately a small thing but yeah one of my least favorite things in superhero media these days (especially the MCU) is how everybody has these magical suits / masks that just materialize over them.

Y’know, if Microsoft gives Vicarious Visions their name back and assigns them Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, I’ll still think this is a dangerous deal for the industry at large but I’ll at least be able to play another good Tony Hawk game.

I was gonna ask “Oh jeez, what has Raven been up to all these years?” but then I checked and was reminded, “Oh yeah... Call of Duty support, just like every other Activision studio.”

I’ve always been less concerned about this on the terms of Microsoft establishing a monopoly and more concerned about what it means for so many longstanding companies with beloved IP now living with Microsoft. Beyond that, if this leads to more significant acquisitions in the game space, things start looking even more

See, I fully agree this is gonna be bad for the industry in the long-term, but I also don’t think Microsoft has any reason to make the major Activision games console exclusives anytime soon.

....okay, but aren’t most Bethesda games still pretty niche (at least in terms of sales)? Outside of Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Doom, have any of their big games sold huge numbers in the last 5 or 10 years?

This might sound silly but I was thinking of finally getting the Spyro remake trilogy the other day because it was pretty cheap on Switch, but I realized that it’ll probably be on Game Pass in a few months so I didn’t get it.

Well he was infamous for stealing people’s teeth, so.

Dude just loves making compost.

Eh, season 3 has been fine. Admittedly it has been a long time since I watched Season 2 so I barely remember most of it, but this season has been fine.
