I mean, yes, I’m talking about the gameplay and structure. I apologize if it wasn’t clear enough for you.

Nope, it came out in 2007 on the PS3 and was an early graphical and technical showcase for the system.

I do think it’s probably the best Spider-Man game I’ve played, but it’s not like the rest of the Spider-Man games out there are particularly well-known for being all that good.

I honestly can’t even remember the drone challenges. Were those the ones where you have to chase something through the city? I didn’t think they were fun but I didn’t remember them giving me too much trouble.

Sure, but isn’t X-2 basically just another jobs-based Final Fantasy game? I haven’t played it but the combat always seemed pretty clearly in-line with other jobs games.

I mean, the gameplay and structure, obviously? Not sure why you’d assume I was talking about anything else, but yeah.

To be fair, I’m looking at the best-selling games on PS4 and 8 out of their top 10 best-sellers were exclusives and each of them sold more than 8 million copies. That’s not a bad showing for their exclusives, at least in terms of sales.

It’s funny how Rockstar used a vibe that practically feels like a parody about how dark and awful Batman can be and then decided to cast actors from the DCAU version of Batman. Truly bizarre.

I mean, sure, it’s cool to visit places I know - I started playing it around the time I started a new job in Manhattan and it was fun finding my building - but I dunno, I’ve been doing stuff like that since the first open-world games started showing a “realistic” NYC like twenty years ago. Even if the fidelity is

I typed up a more detailed list and then felt it wasn’t particularly important so I deleted it. But sure, here you go:

To be fair, I think Nintendo has said something along the lines of “these are all different legends about these characters” so it’s not completely unreasonable to stick with that idea.

Yeah, I mean it is exactly a mass market, lowest common denominator kids movie. It turned out exactly how I thought it would after hearing “Super Mario Bros movie by the people who made Minions.”

I will say that as somebody who didn’t have a PS3 or PS4 but just got a PS5, I think I got my hopes up too much about the PlayStation exclusives. The only genuinely great exclusives I’ve played so far have been Bloodborne and Uncharted 4. The one I was most bummed about was Spider-Man; not because it’s bad, but

My dude, I came here to say the exact same thing and I’m honestly kinda glad you did it first because I’m fighting off a cold and just don’t have the energy for it today.

I’m not sure how your response is particularly relevant to mine. I was commenting on how I’d prefer these major platform holders to build internal studios instead of acquire long-standing third-party publishers because I want those publishers to remain independent.

Yeah, I mean, I already have MGS 2 and 3 (and therefore MG1 and 2) on Xbox from the HD collection, so this doesn’t hold a ton of sway over me. The main thing for me is whether or not it’ll be worth picking up the original MGS or just getting the GOG version.

These games aren’t in the timeline because the timeline is and always has been a meaningless thought experiment that the Zelda developers have literally said they have and will change when they feel like it.

Yeah same. Zelda says something at the end of Breath of the Wild about one of the Divine Beasts not working, so maybe they broke down? I dunno.

The books are inconsistent with each other and with the games themselves. Trying to make sense of it is a fools errand.
