I changed the timing belt and water pump on my Fiat 124 Spider, twice. Not fun. I totally replaced the brakes; ads, rotors, master cylinder etc. Not quite as bad as the timing belt, but still not fun. I drew the line when the head gasket let go, spewing oil all over the exhaust manifold. Made a great smoke screen…

I’ve often thought about doing this. My wife and I go to the VSCDA races at RA in the fall. A lot of the vintage racers roll their own, and they look like they are having a blast.
