Its a favorite of mine because when I saw it on the local creature feature as a kid it was the first time I had seen many of the monsters featured.  Obviously I had no concept of ‘stock footage’ so to me it was all incredible.

I went to watch the trailer on youtube just now. The show looks awful and the actress playing the 14 year old boy neither looks like nor sounds like a 14 year old boy (and is almost gratingly annoying) - BUT - as you say, the actress playing Chad’s mother (Saba Homayoon) is pretty hot.
