And Thief! I always hated Jim Belushi, but I finally saw Thief a few years ago and I was actually surprised and bummed out by his character’s fate.

John has grown on me as a character. His attempts to steer away from his worst impulses seem sincere but the occasional dig he can't help can be very funny (I mean, that was one boring breakup). 

I didn’t really laugh a lot at this one... but damn I was on the edge of my seat. This season The Good Place is, at times, less funny to me (it can still be downright hilarious, don’t get me wrong) but a lot more emotionally and thematically intense.

He was! But he’d still be terrible casting for Dan. Patrick Wilson was physically all wrong but managed to do the best acting work in the (terrible) movie apart from Jackie Earle Haley, who was admittedly perfect for Kovacs.

I’m more concerned with the possibility that Disney + may not be available on Fire Sticks at launch due to another corporate pissing match.

Ahhhhh that was a delightful bit of self-hating whiteness. All the white people who complained about Brad Pitt’s true-to-real-life character because they worried it would make other white people feel that not all white people were bad. Stupid history being so inconvenient for self-loathing!  Couldn’t the filmmakers…

My problem with it is that they’re talking about the Bear Jew as this fearsome guy and him in the dark clanking his baseball bat as he gets closer is really menacing... and then out steps Eli Roth.  No one, ever, has been scared of Eli Roth.

As a comic book nerd, I appreciate that he seems to get the source material, too.

Just rewatched the Dark Knight Rises, Anne Hathaway cat burglars every scene she’s in and I feel unfair for not giving her enough credit the first time I watched it because Pfeiffer’s iteration was such an icon to me as a gay lil kid.

Yeah I was rooting for Rudy, but figured Tommy was probably the cold killer of the two.  Rudy definitely part of the old wave of organized crime, that was largely rubbed out or cowed into submission when Gotti killed Castellano and took over the Gambinos, and initiated a new, bloody era in New York crime.
