I’m curious about that myself. The one that I find fits this criteria of the lead actor leaving after first season is Meg Foster leaving the part of Cagney on Cagney & Lacey. The first season was 6 episodes and in the second season, Cagney was played by Sharon Gless.

They should use a new character like Katrina Moldoff from the Brave and the Bold episode.
