I made two attempts at reading the book many years ago, and failed to get past page 75 or so either time. I dig the "magic realism" thing and period New York, so I thought it would be right up my alley. But, no. (It wasn't the sappiness that threw me off, it was the dullness.)

It's streamable on Amazon but not on Prime. It's $3 an episode. That's expensive enough that it's actually cheaper to buy the boxed set of all three seasons' DVDs.

The second season is the weakest of the three. I still kind of love it.

This is the second time I've seen "Mozart" compared with "Slings & Arrows," which is one of my all-time faves. I'll definitely be checking that one out, and "The After." And you had me interested in "Transparent" until you compared it with Jonathan Franzen, because, ugh, I hate him.

The cult of "BOT" is growing, then? Good! I had no idea. Such a great show.

We have a title!

Around the third or fourth episode, Abbie's old boyfriend and another guy at the station got suspicious of Crane and called Oxford. They were told yes, Crane worked there and was on … sabbatical? Or something. It was then promptly dropped and unexplained.

I stopped following the Twitter feed because the intentional misspellings annoyed me. And yet I found this very amusing. Go figure.

Flag On the Moon: How did you get there?

I'm a big Carole King fan and read her memoir. Sadly, it's rather dull and I'd only recommend it to diehard fans.

Not much. What's a-Nubian' with you?

The third book is the weakest. It's crazy they're splitting that in two. I hope there's a "special edition" that combines them into one 2-hour movie.

Torn between two lovers—feelin' like a fool. Lovin' both of them is breakin' all the rules.

I remember Mabley's appearances on Merv, Mike Douglas, and the like from when I was a kid. (Yes, I'm incredibly ancient.)

That scene looks like something from Tati's "Playtime" if Tati had a dark outlook. (Seriously, if you've never seen "Playtime," do so immediately.)

Anyone know when "Case Histories" series 2 will air here?

Order from Amazon UK. Much cheaper, even with shipping.

It seems to be getting zippo attention, but Cablevision/Optimum subscribers haven't had NYC station WPIX, which carries The CW, for about two months now. Fortunately, I don't watch anything on The CW.

" The material in those books would form the basis of Really Rosie, a stage musical featuring songs written with Carole King, which in turn inspired an animated TV special in 1975."
