I don't want it to be a feminist show at all. Can't a cartoon have female characters without feminist bloggers cheering in unison? Where was this praise at the braveness of making the main character a girl when My Life As Teenage Robot was created? They're just trying to capitalize of a successful (well at first)

Hey Arnold doesn't even accurately represent an average lower-middle class child's life anymore. Those cartoons are products of different times, good products yes but I doubt they would have the same impact on millennials as they did us.

That's disappointing. That's one of my favourite cartoons growing up. I was so disappointed that the movie failed when I thought it was great at the time. It was so dark and bigger/more epic than the show, I was excited to see more of the cartoons I like get the same treatment (RIP Samurai Jack Movie).

There's plenty for lil kids enjoy. There stories while appealing to young adults are simple enough for kids to follow. My little nieces (about 6-7) love Regular Show.

"Korra’s status as one of the great feminist cartoon heroines"

That is some fascinating shit. I will definitely check out the last season of that show. I find it interesting too how Seth Mcfarlane can voice act such awful scripts when he created the show and the characters, you would expect him to care about the treatment of his characters and the quality of the jokes. He doesn't

Sounds good. Can't wait to see it. He could start a new wave of smarter comedy movies. Yes the Director of Pootie Tang.

It's not because of South Park it's because the script writers have gotten lazier. The episodes are based on generic animated sitcom plots and the writers exploit the cutaways and non-sequiturs because it's easier than coming up with jokes for the plot they know just tacked on. I think Seth forgot to leave someone in

Has anyone else continued watching Family Guy? I've noticed that the writers seem to have grown very cynical and spiteful of their own show. They seem to make a lot of negative jokes attacking themselves, the show, the characters and often even the audience. For example there's a running joke this season that Peter is

Marge already had a Playboy shoot.

Woah what! This guy was the drag lady in 30 Rock?!! I did not realize that. I hated both that character and Kristen's character though. I miss 30 Rock though. I want another sitcom set in the TV production world. Jack and Liz's dynamic is some of the best satire I've ever seen. Unfortunately the show was weighed down

I was damn cheering when Phil attacked him. The guy's just a pain in the ass to the group. Seeing as they never consider just telling him off and being honest that they'd never respect him the way he wants them to, (straight forward conversations are not possible on network sitcoms) throwing him out of the group

“I gotta be honest with you, Carol: I feel like you’re making a big mistake here.”
That line made me smile. It makes it more endearing that they both realise what terrible decision it is but they're still doing it anyway and the sappy sitcom resolution soundtrack got me along with it too.

I think people are over thinking this show. It's pretty dumb and kind of cheap. It's enjoyable though because there's nothing else like it on tv. I prefer the double episode airings though and I hope they return that next season. Makes the show funnier. Not schedule tv but something to watch when you can't think of

"The two horny ladies are the most honest characters on the show. "

"Have you seen my white friends?"

Well it wasn't funny and it slowed down the episodes momentum for no good reason. A lot of footage should've been cut from this episode. I feel like there's a great episode in here hidden by a looser editing job.

I think it was a concept episode just a poorly executed one. The concept would've worked in season 2-3 but lack of a tight edit and a few lazy jokes (that would've been cut for network time) really weighed it down.

How exactly was Season 4 so "fundamentally different"? I remember the criticism being it was a poor retread of previous material. Compared to season 6, season 4 looked more like Community in terms of both visuals, (lighting, settings) plotlines and pace. Also season 4 had more people from previous seasons, including

I agree with the reviewers comments about the episode feeling odd. It definitely needed more work to make it more cohesive and entertaining throughout. Like the reviewer said the concept was good but the just didn't put in the effort required to make it a good episode.
