Everyone’s talking about Corvette but I was going to suggest the Camaro. The new base 2016 SS starts at like, $37k. I don’t care how good the v6 may be, there’s a right way and a wrong way to own a Camaro. One involves having a V8, the other, being a single female.

Of course, the older aircraft have long been out of production and are gonesky. But replacements could jump in to fill the void when existing craft are lost (new C-17s, LRSB, etc.) I was curious how many of the planes pictured are pure scrap/parts and how many could be returned to service. Do they just cover them up…

It makes me wonder: if we found ourselves in a prolonged, existential war that somehow managed to stay non-nuclear, how many of these beasts could be returned to service before production of replacements could be ramped up?

A full-ton, 1950’s, manual braked, manual steered, pickup with no A/C and a worn clutch. I’d drive an e-geared Lamborghini all day over that.
