You’re right. What you said was an opinion.

Eh. In real life, the fake President has declared war on the real FBI. I’m okay with a fictional story in which the fake FBI makes jokes about the real-life fake President.

Every time Darin Morgan writes an episode, he gives Duchovny something ridiculous to do. And every time, Duchovny looks like he’s having the time of his life doing it. Tonight’s highlights were definitely “squatchin’” and his leg-kicking tantrum when he got the alien’s book of “all the answers”.

He actually mentions going online as the last thing he did, which is a great Mulder joke: of course he’d go by the most circuitous, old-school route to check his facts.

We’re just reading between the lines.

To be fair, the spacing is much more interesting than your content. Maybe you need more spacing.

Thanks for your brave comment. I, for one, couldn’t get on with the rest of my day unless I knew that Marc Colten was no longer watching X-Files.

“we could’ve had a hat trip.”

Hah! So did I! I was like, “Did Scully just say what I think she said”, rewound it twice, and then turned up the volume just to make sure.

I definitely enjoy my x-files goofy and fun. The first two episodes were a snooze. The “that dude is creepeee” line killed me, especially since all we’ve learned about that actor in the interim.

Those were really were old scenes, but Reggie was not actually in any of them, and the jokes being terrible was a large part of what made them hilarious, I thought. (Also the fact that Reggie apparently shot Eddie Van Blundt, aka Darin Morgan.)

Me too! They probably got it by the censors by pretending she meant “taint” as in poison.

As I understood it, it wasn’t a joke but another meta reference, pretty sharply and bluntly pointing out that women have been notoriously shut out of the X-Files writers room, etc. So, this line is actually as timely as it gets in 2018 and (as a woman) I’m glad it’s in there to highlight the absurdity of the still

Darin Morgan is just such a damn champion. It’s wild. (Also, he is the only writer who would create a situation in which they go back and alter an episode he acted in, and have someone shoot him in the head. Bless.)

that whole montage about his jobs was hilarious!

I’m not an X-Files fan at all. I really have seen hardly any of the show - I know the characters a bit from pop culture references, and the most I’ve seen is an episode and a half from this season, only half paying attention. I caught almost all of this episode and laughed my head off. The alternate theme song, the

I about died when Scully compared the flavor of the lemon-lime Jell-O to “Leprechaun Taint”.

I distinctly remember not seeing it...perhaps

This episode was such a fever dream. The X-Files is best when it leans into the absurdity of its premise.

The line about Dr. They being among the “hundreds of millions” at the last inauguration was pretty great, and the part with Ronnie waterboarding a guy and blowing away a wedding party with a drone was a nice little bit of black humor.
