Yup...used to be Buick, but these days it seems to be Lexus, mostly the ES...though for a while the Toyota Venza was a popular one (when it was not an SUV, not a car), I’m guessing because they are easy to get in/out of.

The Nissan IDx is a perfect example of why Nissan struggles so much these days. This car was just so full of ‘Win’ that it would have been crazy successful...if they had priced it right, of course. I’ve talked to a lot of car folks over the years and not a single one disliked that car...not too many cars are that

2008 Audi RS4 Cabriolet - It does everything, looks quite nice, is luxurious enough with a ‘just right’ size, handles well yet still rides nicely, has decent tech (and lots of tech mods are possible), and sounds frickin’ AMAZING. It is the perfect balance of performance, luxury, style, size, all-weather capability.

“In fact, forget the Titanic.”

You’d think he’d be more concerned about making his ship anti-iceberg, but whatevs.

Audi B8 platform coupe...A5/S5/RS5. Even in a terrible color it still looks fantastic, and the intro of the B9 models made the earlier one look even better, as they added all sorts of frippery (bulges and lines) that polluted the purity of the shape. Just such a timeless design, still looks great 15+ years on.

It was pretty uninspiring to drive, though, while the RDX was actually quite fun. My GF had a Mazda CX-7 and it was...fine. A bit plasticky inside, but overall just...fine. It had...acceleration, sort of. It was roomy for its size. It didn’t fall off of curves, but it didn’t really enjoy them, either. I had an Acura

I would also argue that it makes you a more discerning reader of ‘regular’ fiction...having read thousands of fanfics, I now find myself more critical of the regular fiction I read. I’m not saying I enjoy it less, just that I now understand why I did or didn’t like a particular book, whereas in the past all I had was

Can confirm...I’ve had five, and my conscience has always stopped me, just in time.

No possibly about it.

I would add the Cortina, especially in Lotus modified form...and what about the Ka? I always thought the name was pretty silly, but Sport Ka was kind of cute...the Brits do love their puns. Also any of the Cosworth modified Fords, though you got a couple...missed the Sierra, though.

First gen, B8/B8.5 platform, Audi A5/S5/RS5...just such a gorgeous design, especially the facelifted (2013-2017) version. It’s also a great car, as great to drive as it is to look at...so smooth yet with a bit of an edge of aggression, especially in RS5 form with the stretched fenders and wicked exhaust note. I’d

Interesting list...personally, I would have put “Love Reign O’er Me” much higher, as it is a nearly perfect song (and Daltrey’s vocal is just astounding, really showing his range). But these sorts of lists are always personal, so you’ve done you and that’s fine.

At one time they did believe this...heck, at many times it was suspected (“Sound barrier’s a farm you can buy in the sky” and such, affects of ultrasonic speeds on astronauts would be catastrophic, etc.). But you’d think by now we’d have learned by the fact that people who go fast don’t die....but when so many people

Other than the fact that it creates reflections in the windows and severely (no exaggeration, severely) reduces visibility...not to mention ruining night vision by causing pupils to contract...no. It’s not illegal in most states, but it is really dumb to do.

I’m usually not a big fan of American cars, but I was on assignment for almost a year in 1999 and had a rental for 9 of those months that was a really impressive car. It was an Oldsmobile Alero.

I think TWR (and JaguarSport) already did that, with the XJR-15...even prettier and a much better drive (according to contemporary reports).

I think a lot of folks think of these as 80s cars...and, really, they are technically a 70s car. The car mags loved them, it was just buyers that didn’t, well, buy them.

This was not underrated...CAR and other euro buff books loved these things, and sang their praises often, and loudly. But, yeah, they were very, very cool.

When I took the MSF they were saying to push the handlebar and it made NO sense to me. Then once we got on the bikes I realized it wasn’t push FORWARD, it was push DOWN...something they maybe possibly perhaps should have clarified as the looked at a sea of confused faces...
