Seriously...even if all you appreciate is their astounding production quality, Steely Dan is not a nobody band. “Hey Nineteen” is one of the catchiest tunes ever written...and the single best audio quality testing track I know of.

Well, look at some of the notes and you’ll see why...not sure this writer is aware that Metallica recorded anything prior to “Enter Sandman”. I mean, I get that “OK, Computer” is an amazing album, but to call “Time Out of Mind” ‘forgettable’ is clearly misguided...it’s considered one of Dylan’s top 10 (which is

I echo the sentiments on the Yellow Bird...when I tell folks about this track, it is the video I reference, always. My favorite part is at 14:50, the trackside view of that millimeter-perfect powerslide...awesome.

Some of you really thought electric cars were boring.” Yeah, some of us also find video racing games boring, too...and I mention that because driving an electric car is a pretty similar experience. A video game, coupled with an occasional bout of explosive acceleration. But there is more to driving than

Quick poll: have any of the multitude of ‘new, improved’ logos over the past couple of decades actually been ‘improved’? All of the ones I can think of are demonstrably worse than their prior logo. Ok, maybe Mazda? Yeah that flying M is much better than the stylized ‘rotor’...but I can’t think of any others. And the

The word ‘floundering’ keeps popping into my mind.

It’s funny what cars people consider ‘large’ these days. My first car was a 76 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, and I had to pass my driver’s test in it. Yes, including parallel parking its 18.5 foot length...yeah, 221.5 inches long, with a 116 inch wheelbase. And when they came out, people complained that they were too

One of my very favorite cars of all time....part of it because of my obsession with ‘interceptor’ (finally got my dream bike...an 86 Honda VFR Interceptor...this year!), but I just always loved the shape of these as well. Plus, in it’s FF model form, it was the spiritual ancestor of my S5...an AWD luxury sport coupe

Since winter tires are, and should be, the obvious #1 answer, and pretty much every car has heated seats these days, I’m going to go with ‘heated steering wheel’. I thought this was a silly thing until I had a service loaner Audi A4 with such a wheel...it was a revelation. Instead of terrible bulky gloves, I could

The two local Acme supermarkets had them the weeks leading up to Halloween...they had Boo Berry, Count Chocula, and Frankenberry (which I, of course, purchased and thoroughly did not enjoy...but it’s a thing I do every year). I only ever see them around Halloween, and only those three...

Cheap gin is another good household cleaner...it works especially well on jewelry.

For me it’s the range...I used to commute only occasionally, but I still do go for weekend rides that often are over 150 miles on all backroads. I would totally consider a LiveWire as I think the configuration looks sporty enough for the backroads I prefer, while still being comfortable for long rides...but it has to

They featured this on ‘All Girls Garage’ on Motortrend several weeks ago...they did the install of one, with the assistance of Michael Borla, then took it to the track in a drag race against an actual Mustang. Personally, I think the whole thing is idiotic, but their point that people spend thousands on exhaust

The intrepid prototype...” ahh, I see what you did there. Nice!

That laser is both the best and worst feature of any vacuum, ever. Best because it really helps you find the dirt, worst because you feel like an utter slob because of how much detritus you see on your floors...seriously, I had someone coming over so did a quick swipe of the entry hall and it showed SO much...stuff. I

No love for Ferrari’s Dino V6? It was such a sweet sounding device...and a pretty good racing motor as well. Another I would put out there is the fuel injected 3 liter from the 1955 Mercedes 300 SL. It made a ton of power, for the time, and was so advanced at least in fuel delivery and efficiency. It was also pretty.

Not to sound harsh, but at this point anyone who signs up for a google service and gets the rug pulled out from under them deserves it...burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me, burn me dozens of times...well, you are apparently just a masochist.

Found this elsewhere: “When asked why he continuously risks his life driving a racecar, Tazio Nuvolari turned to his inquisitor and said, “How would you like to die...?” The reply given was, “At home, in my bed, sleeping...”

How is ‘I find your lack of faith disturbing’ not #1? Seriously! It’s not just Jones’ voice, it’s his delivery...his little almost-pauses and inflection on certain words is just...it MAKES a character. Hell, Darth Vader has no face to see, no expressions, let alone micro-expressions...so the voice is vital.

A good service history is worth a few grand, especially on a Vette and even moreso on a ZR-1...this seems to be a well maintained example, so I’d consider it if I couldn’t find the facelifted 92+ that I prefer.
