The sad thing (well, ONE of the sad things) is how much more ‘real’ looking some of the dolls in the article are than many over-PhotoShopped live ‘influencers’...some of those folks go way too far with their virtual airbrushing.

Dating myself here, but it was an Amiga game by Psygnosis called ‘Leander’ and the Pixies album ‘Bossanova’...got both for Christmas in 1990 and played them pretty much the entire winter break. Now I think of Leander every time I hear a song from that album (which is still one of my favorites).

The thing that has been unclear in the articles I’ve read so far is...was there anyone in the driver’s seat? Most have been cagey stating that there were two dead people and neither was in the driver’s seat, but do not outright state there was no driver, they just imply it.

I’m not going to argue the point that Ralph Nader is a self-serving pillock...however, that doesn’t make him totally wrong. Being somewhat right also doesn’t make him totally right, either. We have a bit of a problem these days where everything is so...bisected...divisive...something. I remember arguing with my dad

If you live or drive in NJ and are desperate to pump your own gas for some reason, buy a motorcycle. I’ve only ever had one attendant try to force himself upon my poor defenseless scoot and he backed away when he realized he had no idea how to open the gas cap. It’s possible that some of them realize bike owners are

I had an ‘04 MINI Cooper S as well...also blue, but with black roof and mirrors. Mine was, sadly, unreliable from day 1...18 non-maintenance dealer visits in 26 months of ownership. I traded it for an Acura TSX just before the warranty ran out. My sunroof cassette was replaced...twice. Steering rack...twice. Nav

I had two B5 chassis Audi A4s, one a ‘99.5 and one a ‘01. They had this tiny little flip-down sunvisor above the rear-view mirror. It sounds silly, but on my morning commute to work, there were two different spots where the sun ALWAYS hit just that spot for a few minutes. When I traded my second one in on a MINI

Man, these QOTD go to AOTD really quickly...can never get in on them. We had two...my brother worked at a rental car place as a car jockey. They would turn the hood-mounted windshield washers toward the sides, so they would squirt people on the sidewalk, or cars next to them. Dick move, but kind of funny. The other

They can’t afford anyone better since they blew their entire marketing budget on that Rolling Stones tour last year...and those really ARE Boomers, not wanna-be ‘70s guys.

I rage-scrolled down to post a comment about the CR-V not being as ugly as a RAV4 and barely saw the photo as I was flying by...

Wow...that’s a good one. I’m having a hard time choosing between three, so I’m just going to list them:

It’s neat that it plays modern games as well as classics, but the list of classics is pretty poor. Someday I’ll have a box like this that will let me play Phoenix and Vanguard and other nifty arcade classics, but apparently not yet.

Well, I went to racing school, and a high-performance driving class as well, longer than 15 years ago...wow, 31 years ago!...and it was 9 and 3 then as well, and according to the former Formula 1 driver instructor, it was 9 and 3 since they moved to small steering wheels in the ‘60s. Before that it was 10 and 2 on the

In this ‘all meetings on zoom’ era, we have an...epidemic...of Meeting Requests with NO Agenda. Most barely have a ‘Subject’ statement that makes any kind of sense, but the lack of anything in terms of Agenda really bugs me. It’s not that I’m a stickler for some ‘unwritten rules’ or anything, but how can I (or anyone)

Public Service Announcement for motorcycle riders: If you enjoy riding with an open-face helmet, either avoid riding in the areas these cicadas are flying around for those weeks they are active, or invest in a full-face helmet for that time. Getting hit in the face by one of these is not only unpleasant, but

Can’t believe I forgot that great one from Dylan’s “Highway 61 Revisited”...and it’s my favorite song from that great record! “She’s a junkyard angel and she always gives me bread”

You nailed it...a lift. Preferably a two-post, with quality locking that can keep a car lifted indefinitely (so you can park under it if needed).

Grrrr. I know they’ve used the Maverick name in Europe on a utility vehicle, but to me a Maverick is a small, economical coupe that still manages some style and character. Then again, I’m biased because I grew up in one...my mom’s red 1970. Well I remember the every two (or so) year pilgrimage to Midas to replace the
