Actually, big ‘knobby’ tires aren’t good for snow...pretty awful, actually, as the big voids immediately pack with snow and you essentially have a slick. You need winter tires...specifically winter, not ‘all season’ (which is American for ‘no season’). It’s all about the sipes, apparently. Those are the rather thin

Wow, pretty impressive...not sure people (casual music listeners, for example) really understand how difficult pulling something like this off really is. Anybody can do a cover. Anybody can try to sound similar. But to get the instrument sounds and tones so right...and everything (timing, feel, etc.) so closely

2002 Indianapolis Grand Prix....the unholy shriek of those v10 motors...and the way you could always tell when the McLarens were coming, as they sounded...more. Just more. Oh. Your. God. What a sound!

You need the proper equipment (well maintained vehicle with the proper tires for the conditions, proper clothing, etc.). You need the proper skills (as has been pointed out, skill comes from experience...get some). You need to understand the limitations...of your skill and of your vehicle and of the environment...AND

Both good points...and bench-racing between eras is always fun, if actually not possible (in terms of fair comparison). Hell, a Gurney Eagle from 1967 would be a LOT faster over a lap with modern rubber...but what other issues would that create?

Nope...Gurney Eagle 1967. Heck, I’d even take the 88 McLaren MP4/4 over the 7up car. But I’m going by lines alone, no color influence. Some of the 70's Shadow cars were gorgeous as well, though not as simple and sleek as the MP4/4 or Eagle.

I found the most interesting thing about that podium was that it was Perez and Ocon...together again. At least this time they weren’t ‘together’ on the track. Everyone sings Perez’s praises like crazy, completely forgetting this is the guy that REPEATEDLY ran his teammate off the track. I couldn’t stand him for years.

He did reverse that position shortly thereafter, basically blaming Leclerc for being ‘over-ambitious’. They also pointed out Verstappen wasn’t completely blameless. Personally, I think if you watch the different angles it’s pretty clear that they were ALL a bit at-fault there. Verstappen for his aggressive early

Actually, the commentators said the rule states that he has a certain amount of time to come back in and replace the tires...3 laps seems too many, but that was what Martin Brundle said.

During the Sky on ESPN broadcasts this weekend, they had a really neat chart that showed Bottas compared to Russell through one of the corners...it showed that Bottas braked later, but Russell was getting on the gas sooner. It was a simple chart that you could read in a second. Really cool stuff.

Yeah, it’s pricey...so’s everything else that’s decent anymore. I would imagine Audi was tired of the R undercutting their S3 sales so much...but they are the ones who insist on not having a manual, while VW (supposedly) will. So, that’s worth a bit more parity in pricing to me...

“...that dealer can usually provide you with a copy of the window sticker or build sheet.” I can tell you that at least my Audi dealer wouldn’t get it for me for a car I bought elsewhere, even though I’ve bought 5 other cars from them and get this one serviced there. By the way, it’s called a ‘Monroney Sticker’ or

And this is why you NEVER throw out old car mags...still mad at my mom for dumping some of my best from the 80s, harrumph!

Anyone have any idea if you can replace the cream with a non-dairy substitute (yeah, I had to be THAT person)...I would experiment but that would be a horrible waste of bourbon, and if someone already knows...

Jean Shepherd was a wonderful man...he used to come into my grandparents’ restaurant in NJ quite often. He told the BEST stories, and always had a new one for a little kid running around interrupting his lunch...they also did a movie of another of his stories about the Fourth of July, it would be shown on PBS

THIS...for all those times people ask or get it wrong...this is a pretty good example of irony.

It would also seriously mess with some of the curves...hard to maintain social distance AND hit an apex that is 2 feet away from spectators.

I’m sure everyone will be posting favorite episodes, and I wasn’t going to do it...especially as my favorite bits are just that...bits (“I am the very model of a cartoon individual”...not enough is written about how they brought back the awesome Warner tradition of melding classical music into their toons), but I

The finest beverage ever created, full stop.

I was all set to go on a rant about Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi, as some of us who can’t have sugar also cannot have caffeine (and the Coke version is abysmal), but I saw someone else posted this so have to second it...Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider. It’s amazing stuff, and has all the qualities of an Asti or sweet
