This is the comment I was going to make. H street NE now, is not the H street of old that I grew up on and around. It has gentrified....., street cars, Whole Foods, a slew of bars and restaurants (rat problem though I wouldn’t eat on H st) it is like the new Adams Morgan. But still to call a bus full of black folk…

Pickled beets are actually very good and good for you. My Dad had me try some last year, one or two on top of some cooked collards or black eye peas, or any bean. Good in salads, on the side with some bomb potato salad.
