I would active applepay, but I’m so worried at the notion of me actually losing my phone and with that anyone who finds it potentially having access to my bank accounts or credit cards. I’ve always liked keeping that stuff separate.

I assume it’s because the chip has to generate a new code for every transaction, “talk” to whoever the credit card company is and make sure everything is legit.
A few stores around me (a few grocery stores, target, etc) have the chipped based terminals and I’ve started using them every chance that I get. Although my girlfriend activly forgets to use the chip and keeps on swiping. I feel like this will be a hard change for people to take and with others mentioning the longer…
My local credit union has done switched to chipped Credit Cards as of a few months ago. As I was applying for the CC the lady helping me mentioned that the debit cards were also going to be chipped based within the next year.
