Blew off an assigned court accountability check-in date, which lawyer doesn’t acknowledge or explain-even tho judge is clearly pissed off about it- and client has apparently done another petty theft-also not…

I am guessing justice of peace is equivalent to magistrate judge? In Georgia, magistrate judges don’t have to have law licenses. In Atlanta, they do, but in rural areas they often don’t.

Yeah, it jumped out at me that the judge calls her by her first name, instead of counselor. Not appropriate or professional. OK, yeah, she’s been spending a day a week in his courtroom for three years, so they know each other. So what?

As a woman who came of age in the 80s, I was raised to believe we were now on a level playing field and as the pipeline going forward filled with women, sexism would fade away.
