OK. How do we get successful at it?
OK. How do we get successful at it?
Oh come on. Hillary raised almost twice as much money as Trump. It was the Democratic party machines of the 19th C that practically invented cronyism. We have MSNBC. And if gerrymandering wins elections then why haven’t we been doing it? As for dirty tricks check out some of the DNC emails.
That’s really a thing?
We are most definitely not all in this shit soup together. Some people are bathing in New England Clam Chowder right now.
Our side had a lot of them in 2008 and 2012 and we won.
There ARE sides and a helluvalot of people are on the wrong one.
Fine, but regardless of how much spite and hate there is out there, Barack Obama proved we can win despite that. But we aren’t.
But so much of the criticism of Hillary’s campaign was that she focused exclusively on Trump without having a positive message that people could rally behind.
Ok, so what’s the prescription?
Now we’re back to media? The media chorus after pussycat became so loud that even some Republicans felt the need to ask him to drop out of the race. It’s time to face the facts: our side keeps losing because our side sucks at winning.
This “high road” excuse lets us think we lose because we’re righteous when in fact we lose because we suck at winning.
I don’t know. We didn’t look divided when we turned out millions of protesters on Inauguration weekend. The Green Party didn’t lose the election for us. And the Republicans have been divided for years between Tea Partiers (much bigger than the Green Partiers) and establishmentarians. Yet they somehow manage to win.
What’s ridiculous about loving nature?
Haven’t you heard? Trump won the Super Bowl. The intelligentsia made it all about Trump. So now he drives off with a ring and the left drives off in a Hyundai. As usual.
Fuck bending towards justice. I want the long moral arc of the universe to break its dick off in Trump’s ass. Right now.
The Superbowl was presented as a clash of D v. R, Clinton v. Trump, POC v. white supremacists and good v. evil. It was stupid to make it a culture clash but there it is. So now Trump just won the Super Bowl.
Great, but what’s the answer to my question?
Can we assume a majority of those people would have voted D? If so, how do we get them to vote? If not, why should we care?
“Winning’s everything,” he said. “If you don’t win, you can’t make the public policy. I say that because it is hard for people in our party to accept that principle. Sometimes, you’ve just got to win, OK? Our party likes to be right, even if they lose.”
By that logic, Dems should back Trump if he proposes a good idea? Seriously?
