So what is the Huxtable story trying to do here? It both defends Phylicia Rashad and gives her shit in the same paragraph without even making a cursory “everyone is grey” argument. I don’t even mean this as a burn - like I just want to know what this is trying to actually do.
It should go to Regina King or Ava Duvarney or Steve McQueen but even then I don’t see it. The WB has a race problem in their DC properties and there have been so many drips and drops in articles this year hinting, if not out right saying that.
This is what I don’t understand. The Gate Foundation is huge and well known. If you want to write a hit piece there is easily google-able real things to burn them on:
“New York has to reflect the way New York looks today.”
Ooof -this is the only thing I’m side eyeing Janet for. Like girl, you can complain about getting paid but the cheating and stuff...
I knew all that kumbuya about the show ending on good terms was mess.
Getting his licks in before they find the dirt on him that he KNOWS is out there...
Especially because the dog is actually suffering with issues BECAUSE of the breeding...
omg this. please.
I’m glad this is finally happening. As a mental health professional I’ve always been #FreeBritney, not b/c I’m a stan but because people with mental health conditions should have agency. The bare minimum of having agency is being allowed speak for yourself.
This - the show began as a queer kid’s dream in 2009 when I first started watching in my old dorm room. It has gone fully main stream acceptable and the show has SUFFERED for it.
I’m an old so I know this won’t land the same with everyone, but when Brody Jenner is the voice of reason...Brody. Jenner. Girl...
This - the podcast covers this in detail. JT was apparently forgiven by Moonvees who up until 2018 ran CBS/Viacom, which runs/owns MTV, VH1, and CBS TV (which broadcasts the grammys). Timberlake took the exit and left Janet holding the bag.
I think the problem is that they were both in on it but only one of them had their career deliberately destroyed by keeping her off award shows and her songs out of video and radio rotation. The Your Wrong About Podcast has a good dissection of this whole mess that actually kind of gives JT a pass as the real culprit…
That all makes sense actually but to further clarify in the case of Britney there have been some documented instances to say that she does want people questioning her conservatorship. There were also some recent documents in the push to remove her dad stating that there were never competency tests completed and that…
I’m split - none of us actually know what’s going on with Britney because one of the issues at hand has always been the level of control placed on her by her own family from a young age. There are genuine questions about her agency/autonomy in statements for or against the doc or basically anything else.
Don’t threaten me with a good time.
I’ve never read the books but I just binged the series and I’m with you. Inej and Nina are worth their own series as both are heaps more interesting than Alina.
This lets not give the woman that got her medical degree from Singled Out university another chance to “educate” the masses.
