TBH they’re really missing a chance for Pokemon-style synergy here. Having a hit game is one thing. Having a hit game that also has a hit TV show that kids (teens?) all want to watch every Saturday catapults you into “pop icon” territory.

There was an old fan-cut trailer for XIII that used XII’s Crystal Theme, which was spot-on. I kept expecting them to use it during the credits, at least; the song they did use flirts melodically with it, but never quite hits the right notes. It leaves you feeling worse than if they’d just done something completely
