aw, i’m sad to hear that with sanford. fchamp is no surprise, of course

the fact that it isn’t new doesnt make it any less important to bring up though, does it?
i think the mentality of ‘the onus on the parent’ is basically meant to scapegoat parents when it would really be beneficial for there to just be more protections in place
i like this comment because it kind of draws attention to the fact that this is not really an ‘ethical’ issue so much as an issue of taste. sometimes a piece of art feels like an ‘homage’ or ‘inspired by’ something in a way that makes it tasteful. other times it can feel like a ‘copy’ or ‘ripoff.’ what determines that…
fair enough re: japan. my current beef is mainly w/ the fact that they are essentially a US lackey
i appreciate you trying to educate people. you are 100% correct that nobody would have said anything if it were the united states, or israel etc, even though the united states is easily on a completely different level from everyone. people also fail to consider japan’s own record.
the democrats are literally pushing us closer to ww3 right this moment though....
from the reuter’s article:
“They will also need to strengthen the management of peak hours for such shows and shows will need to be “forcibily” turned off by 10 p.m. local time for users of their parental control “youth mode” functions, it aded.”
so it sounds to me like it’s specifically a feature for youth mode that…
the people at the top know this stuff happens 1000%
capitalism sure is efficient
20% less pay for 20% less work makes this like... easily less than the bare minimum. game freak should def be getting 0 credit for doing anything positive here
it’ll be worth it if the menu animations are like this
people have differing opinions on it but i think its unique vibe makes it a must-play either way
“you really think the smart kid who studied hard every day got an A? come on, i mean me and all my friends got Ds and Fs! theyve gotta be lying”
i think the answer is basically that lots of people do not share your perspective on handheld games being ‘secondary’. imo gba functioned basically like... almost as a revival of the snes era. (i say this as someone who was young and never had an snes). you even have games like fire emblem and advance wars that were…
you think they are hiding hundreds of thousands of deaths somehow?
In regards to the existence of the term “red games”: I know that you didn’t invent the term, the issue is not “who” made it up. And the fact that it was supposedly a known term back then does not really justify its use.
The core claim I’m taking issue with here is the idea that there is something called a “Red Game,” which is some kind of extremely patriotic pro-china game, and that this type of game has a significantly bigger chance of being approved than other games. You still haven’t shown any examples proving this.
I want to repeat…
the article says that tencent and netease lost 60 billion dollars of stock value in september. so, if the point was to help tencent, that seems like a pretty weird way to go about it.
that’s a very big change from your original claim of “red games.” many people will read your comment and imagine that chinese game devs have to include pro-government propaganda or nationalistic themes in order for their games to be accepted.
