I really hope they don’t add a skill tree. You have progression in gaining more hearts and Stamina (and now batteries) for character improvement. Link doesn’t need to do 10 quests to learn how to spin his sword around, or slow down time while shooting his bow. No thank you.

First game that really blew me away as far as graphics go was Shadow of the Beast on a Commodore Amiga. Parallax scrolling for the win!

I hope there is some exciting stuff. Only thing I am mildly excited for right now is Final Fantasy XVI.

They’re good, naturally.

I was surprised not to get the paraglider on the Great Sky Island, but I guess you’d be tempted to just yeet off the side. I did follow the main quest until I got it, because I felt it was important. Although I unlocked my horses first. And did a few shrines. And jumped into the first chasm and died because there was

I enjoyed the tutorial, but can see how people feel it is a bit more guided. The new powers need a bit more explaining than the BOTW ones did, I think. Particularly Ultrahand. But I also think, since everything is so new, that people are really missing some of the potential ways to avoid problems in the tutorial area u

I mean, if you were playing games in the 80's then there is plenty of recency bias. Not a single Ultima nor Wizardry? Foolishness.

Right? It’s sort of dumb for me to be surprised, yet it still happens.

I’m surprised at the number of people that miss the old school Zelda format. I think it’s because I found Breath of the Wild so exhilarating. It felt like one of the first open world games that truly just let you go figure things out in whatever way you pleased. But I shouldn’t be surprised.

I’m actually really enjoying the game. I enjoy the combat. The guns feel punchy, head shots are a delight. I dig the story and the cut scenes being static don’t bother me. Playing 100% solo. I can understand most of the frustrations people are having with the game(like the issues listed in this article), but for some

Yeah, exactly. Wii U had a lot of killer 1st party games. They did not sell the console.

People are expecting better fonts? Ok.

Yeah, I’ve bounced between Sony and Microsoft the last couple of console generations, but have owned every Nintendo Console since the SNES. It sits in a different space. Thanks to the Series S, I have all three this generation.

I’m frequently in the minority based on my opinions, nothing new there. But yes, I am truly surprised it is getting such a negative response. And sure, laugh at the fonts, but you are playing a game and you literally gasp when you see the fonts? Touch some grass.

I have not had any success going down a ladder. The game definitely has legitimate issues, no doubt.

Yeah. Such a tremendous experience when it came out. Like nothing I had played before. Similar experience to playing Breath of the Wild.

I had to look that up. Interesting. I mean, I don’t think it comes off that way if you read the whole thing. No threats, no self-flattery. No tough guy nonsense. I fail to see the comparison. But since I wrote it, I guess I would.

I’ve put around 6 hours into the game. Not once did I gasp as the fonts. I mean, they are 100% legible. Which is all I really care about when playing a game. I don’t fucking gasp in dismay at a fucking font style. I read the fucking text.

Can not wait. Breath of the Wild is my very favorite game (knocking the original Xcom down one spot). It was the only game I had for my new Switch for about a month, and I did not care. Bliss.  Ponied up for a voucher to pick up this and Fire Emblem Engage at $50 each.

Love my PS5, but my optical drive has already died(won’t recognize discs), and all three of the dualsense controllers have drift and one has a messed up trigger. This after right around two years. Frustrating to say the least.
