Diablo III was my first foray into the Diablo games, and my main was a wizard with high health and mana regen, so I went through life spamming Disintegrate at everything and it worked pretty well for me, so I went sorcerer on IV.  Turns out they're not very similar, but I'm starting to figure things out. (Chain

Oh, TotK fixed the weapon degradation? I wonder why mine keep breaking, then?

For me it’s all about range. I used to be what’s known as a super commuter. In different parts of the country, that could have a slightly different meaning, but here in Southern California, a super commuter is essentially a person with an extremely long work commute. Technically, it’s 90 minutes or more, but I

Oh, I think TotK is actually worse than BotW, if only marginally. Unlike Ethan I think fusion made the weapon degradation even worse, and Hyrule long longer has that unexplored frontier thing going for it. I think 8 is about right for TotK, but BotW is more like an 8.5 or 9 for me.

Hard disagree.

The fact that you have to ask "serious or tasteless joke?” goes a long way towards explaining why Kotaku has such a poor reputation.

I feel like, as long as you're not dying to play Ubisoft's games on release day, you can buy the games you actually want to play on sale and spend less than $216 over a year. I mean, I mostly enjoy Far Cry and Assassin's Creed, but I don't think I've paid more than $20 for any of them.

I’m pretty familiar with The Backrooms.  I’ve never seen the YouTube videos, but MatPat’s covered it pretty extensively on Film Theory.

I figured that’s probably the case, I’m just tired of tech writers and Youtubers knocking the Xbox controller for using AA batteries when that’s a feature, not a bug.

This particular controller also ships with Microsoft’s Xbox Rechargeable Battery Pack, so that you don’t need to use disposable batteries, though the company’s environmental concerns in this particular case ring a little hollow when most other standard Xbox controllers still ship with AAs.

Complaining that Atlus didn’t bring back your favorite dead character is one thing. Agree to disagree. Crying homophobia over it (especially when Akechi’s sexuality is more your headcanon than anything confirmed by official sources), when plenty of people are dealing with actual homophobia, is a take so bad even

Man, and I just bought a Steam Deck less than two weeks ago!

When? It’s been downhill since Crecente left.

I really liked it when I played it, but I didn’t play it until I picked it up on a Steam holiday sale nearly a year after launch, and I'm the kind of player who will steadfastly ignore the main plot to do every side quest possible first.

If it just happened to be a game by a Russian developer, and that developer happened to not speak out directly against the war, that’d be one thing. But when that developer might have ties to Gazprom and the profits from the game could literally be funding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, that’s a bit more than “maybe

Yeah, honestly, at this point my hope is that Criterion can work out the license and do a Heisei box set as nice as the Showa one. It’d be worth replacing the other six.

Not on this list, but probably should be, is Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989). All the Showa and Millenium-era Godzilla films can be found fairly easily on Blu-ray (I love the Criterion Collection Showa box set), and all the other Heisei-era Godzilla films can be found relatively cheaply in Sony’s Toho Godzilla

You know, a part of me wants to be mad that Nintendo is charging $70 for a game when they can’t even use “next gen” as an excuse for the markup.

GBA is the one thing that could probably have gotten me to subscribe to the Expansion Pass, but I think I’m going to wait until they beef up both libraries a bit. I mean, Link’s Awakening, of which we already have the Switch remake? SMB3 for GBA, when SMB 3 is already in the NES catalog?  Don’t get me wrong, there are

Even if the Supra was entirely in-house Toyota, I just don’t know that the bang-for-your-buck is there.  Like, sure, the base Supra is better than the GR86, but like $15,000 better?  And if you talked yourself up to the V6 Supra, sure, it’s a bit better in the corners than a Nissan Z Sport, but again you’re talking at
