The character stuff seems badly motivated, is what I'm trying to get at. I can't work out why a lot of the friends, lovers or side characters do anything they do, or why they all have such patience for his antics.

I still think this show's terrible. Neither Josh Thomas or Thom Ward can act, the writing's not funny, and the drama's sloppy and unrealistic.
What did you find so poor about Shadows?
Yeah, I think it's one of the most aggravating episodes the show ever did — and I think there was a lot of mileage they could have gotten out of the character at this point.
Isabel was played by a horrible actress
It's a fairly old concept — there's an episode of Angel which does something similar.
There were signs. She just misread them.
When Selina was such a sloppy-ass thief in the first episode, why is she now really good?
Not that I want to get into a semantics debate, but the writer's clearly realise that what the character did was wrong, and that she crossed ethical lines multiple times in that scene.
If they don't find her behaviour questionable, why would the writers give Barbara all those lines criticising Montoya for breaking into her apartment? I think it's pretty clear what they're saying there.
I really like the actress too, she and Barbara have decent chemistry.
Barbara is all-but walking around naked, fan service much? I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that that actress is a model?
Balloonman fell off the van, and clearly broke his fall with his collarbone.
I find the invitation to scathe more troubling. "Feel free to laugh"? This reads like a D grade review for B grade product.
Of course it is! It's silly as fuck and meant to be.
Guys, you're really wondering about that? I honestly can't understand how you'd miss this.
Yeah, that's pretty much exactly it. There's the occasional guest and lead performance I really enjoy, but for the most part I just watch to keep up — unlike a lot of other shows, which I watch for actual enjoyment.
Yeah, I'm not about to bail either — but I'm not too sure Arrow ever does get better. I watch it regularly because it's big in the Zeitgeist right now, but I don't believe it to be a very good show.
Honestly, I watched the pilot for this the other night and thought it was pretty poor. The dialogue is poor, (I really want to compile a list of the clunkers, they're that hilarious at times), the backbone that holds up the episode's conflict is reliant upon a ridiculous coincidence, (and the villain's actions are…
Yeah, but she's got Lin, so it's probably worth it.
