You say that like Glee wouldn't be immeasurably improved by having Kitty and Marnie feature in a drag-out fight to the death.
I liked the original (http://www.youtube.com/watc… a lot better than what actually ended up airing — though I remember the second episode being pretty good, and Christine Anu really surprised me with how strong a performance she could give. But otherwise I wasn't terribly impressed with it all. It wasn't that funny in…
Unfortunately…
Linguistically speaking, there's not too much difference between the wide-mouthed southern accent and the similarly wide-mouthed Australian accent. Ryan Carnes, for instance, doesn't have to shift his voice too much on True Blood in order to do what does.
In terms of his Australian appearances, I've seen him play a sweet-heart nerd on Love My Way, a recurring part as a no-nonsense cop on Rake and a grungy guy who lived in a van and owned a magic, life giving penis in Laid..
Yeah, Melbourne's not really like that (despite that film being generally quite true to life in other ways), though it's known fairly well for its gang violence. It's also the arts and television capital of Australia, go figure.
Very briefly. She's there at the start when Hannah's making the rounds (she's pretty much the first person Hannah talks to at the party after her parents and Marnie, and just before Laird). She turns up later as well, when she calls everyone away from Marnie to see Ray get into a fight.
Yeah, his performance is fine. I think he struggles a little with reaching for anger, but he's giving really strong performances generally. Compare/constrast: any child actor to ever grace Doctor Who, if you're looking for pain.
Yeah, it's cool, I'm cool. You're cool too.
With the greatest respect, what you're implying about what bears do or don't prefer seems like a whole pile of nonsense.
Pay, not drink. They're splitting the bill.
“Let’s go and find Captain Jack, he’d know what to do.” “He’s busy! He’s got plenty to do rebuilding the Earth!”
Given that each episode is a day long, barring time jumps three seasons would be just over a month.
Julia's reluctance - the virus has been shown to affect the minds of the vectors. I took her hesitance as partly caused by that, partly PTSD.
I know some people have suggested that he's her father, but I wonder if he is. To me, the implication of Hatake's worry for Julia seems to be of a scientist for his valued project, not a father for his daughter.
Dr. Sulemani turned from a scene-stealing side character to a scene-stealing creepy monster with aplomb. I thought Tamara Brown played her well, and I will miss her face dripping with weird black stuff!
All true, and there's also the episode's title, but I tend to expect some sort of plotty-shenanigans from an Edlund episode. He tends to be structurally interesting, and invested in creating odd set-pieces.
FIGHT TO THE DEATH
I was struck by how similarly His Last Vow was structurally to A Scandal In Belgravia (the Irene Adler episode from the season series, and the last one to have Moffat's sole name on the script).
