In about 3 years my student loans get paid off and I'll have an extra ~$600 a month to play with. It's tough because I REALLY would like to put that toward paying off my mortgage early but, on paper, I know it is probably better in the long run to invest it since my mortgage interest is so low. It's tough though

Yes, but benign dumb. This is malignant dumb. Plenty of benign dumb to go around, no need to reward malignancies.

There's a lot going on here, but I think the most interesting part is that these guys seem to think that a person's value is solely determined be how physically strong you are. Very convenient belief for a big strong guy, but they'll probably find that it's a less appealing philosophy when they get older and are just f

Ladies I'll go on record when I say:

Fun fact: the US and South Sudan are the only 2 UN members who have failed to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, a treaty with the sole purpose of protecting the rights and well being of children (Somolia, another hold out, finally caved). One of the things it prohibits is subjecting children (whose

> with chips and guac
> If you combine a burrito with chips and guacamole

The chips and guacamole are like over 700 calories. They're a meal in and of themselves. Any of the items at Chipotle (and I'm pulling this from memory) is like less than 700 calories, which is fine amount of calories for a single meal if you

I don't see the big deal about a 1000 calorie dinner. A normal lunch and breakfast of a sandwich, some fruits, coffee, a granola bar and some yogurt is 700ish calories, so that still would put me behind my daily need for calories. And I can't remember the last time I finished a meal from a restaurant (aside from

sadly, that's probably not going to change any time soon. The habits of American consumers are very difficult to change, especially when it comes to food, but yeah, this probably has a lot to do with why we're such a fat nation. The definition of value to American consumers seems to have become 'get a large quantity

It's silly to conflate them. McDonald's serves garbage, charges a pretty fair price considering that the ingredients and end product are garbage, and doesn't pretend that its food is anything but just technically edible by law. Chipotle takes great care in sourcing its ingredients, takes pride in its product,

Bingo. I'm so sick of the fucking food police who think that everyone want to give up cheese and dairy or can't figure out ways to fit decadent stuff into your life.

Or you could cut it into 2 or 3 pieces. I always think it's funny that ppl act like your options are to take out all of the good stuff or make it smaller. You don't have to eat everything on your plate if you know it's too much food for one meal.

I'm at the end of a Whole30 and a pretty dedicated paleo person (please don't all jump down my throat yelling about grains. Y'all eat whatever makes you feel good! Paleo makes me feel good!) — and Chipotle is a saving grace! It's the only place I can eat with all my absurd restrictions and not make anyone upset or

Death by butter has to be one of the tastiest and happiest ways to go. How do I request this treatment?

1st- No normal sized person is only eating 1600 calories

Usually, when I get a burrito at Chipotle or another Mexican restaurant that makes similarly sized burritos, I eat half and save the other half for the next day. 500 calories for a meal is far more reasonable, and I don't like the feeling of being over full.

There is an interesting study floating about somewhere that says that, on average, people tend to die around the same age no matter their adherence to healthy eating and the Cult of Thin (and that average is later than ever). OK, so if you're eating Chipotle every day and taking your multivitamin to soothe your

Calories were not news, but the sodium is! I've been having issues w orthostatic intolerance (faintin spells) and got told BY A DOCTOR the best treatment was 4000-8000mg sodium per day sooooo what I'm getting from this is LATER LOSERS I WILL BE OFF MAKING LOVE TO SEVERAL BURRITO BOWLS, THANK U NYT

Exactly! I have no problem with a Chipotle burrito taking up the majority of my calories for the day... because it usually takes me the majority of the day to eat it. Funny how that works out.

It's at least two serving on one plate. I've never understood why a business that has such thin profit margins chooses to do this. Serve a smaller portion that can be consumed in one sitting, charge a little less, and waste a lot less. Everyone is happy.

Their nutrition calculator is really fun to play with... and gave me my favorite Chipotle fun fact: somehow in this bonkers world we live in, 2 oz of the vinaigrette that comes with the salad is 270 calories, versus 2 oz. of sour cream for 115. I'll take that delicious fermented dairy sauce, thank you very much.
