GUILLERMO DEL TORO IS NOT MICHAEL BAY.

All this talk of alien fucking makes me secretly hope that this movie contains a suprise cameo by John Barrowman playing Orson Scott Card and it turns into "Springtime for People-Who-Share-Their-Views-Of-Homosexuality-With-Hitler."

At NYCC last year, I recall Fred Seibert mentioning one of the reasons Nick passed on Adventure Time was that they thought Princess Bubblegum made the show too "girly."

Rango was about the right length. I think it's Hollywood blockbusters in general that are too long these days.

I wonder if the rabbits were supposed to replace the werewolves in the first draft.

Reverse reaction for me: liked Iron Man 3 throughout, and I'll admit enjoyed the pre-costume parts of Man of Steel but after he got the costume it became an exercise in violent tedium.

I saw an advanced screening the other night and this is review is pretty right on the mark (except for the oversight of forgetting Planet Terror's existence and calling HBC's gun leg "original"). It's a mess and I totally get why most of the reviews are negative, but I found it a fun mess. Great cinematography, solid

I remember Brad Bird actually talked about Ratatouille sequel ideas back when the first movie was being released, so that could possibly work.

Has John Waters ever guest-starred on Sesame Street? For some reason I imagine he'd do a wonderful duet of I Love Trash with Oscar.

DKR was great. Kind of the complete opposite of Man of Steel, in that characters' actions actually had consequences and it had a sense of humor to go with its darkness.

Is this going to be the response to everything about crowdfunding? Even when it's just some college students trying to make a low-budget short?

CROWDFUNDING THREAD

Didn't Captain America kill a few Hydra soldiers? Of course it was World War II where he had a license to kill and his best friend had just seemingly died, so it makes more sense in that context than it does in certain other cases.

He was right about video games.

On the topic of movies and money:

Saw Monsters University. It's not great Pixar, but very solidly good, funny with an especially interesting message for the kids. Blue Umbrella short was beautiful.
