Pixar, before the Disney buy-out happened at least. Always looked like the coolest place to work, and being there in their prime (which they sadly seem to have passed) would have been amazing.

@WrongSirWrong:disqus : It certainly is a powerful experience. I guess when I hear the word "entertainment", I think of a certain "fun" factor. Fun is far from mutually exclusive from tragedy in art (Shakespeare's tragedies are definitely fun for their thrills and wordplay and usually the performances and many other

He was actually replacing the female director's replacement. It seems to have been through at least four director teams, which makes you wonder what the hell was going on with the project.

I'm surprised the man would be polite, given his history of harsh, over-the-top criticism. I mean, I know he likes Genndy, but he also likes several of Pixar's animators and he still gets rough when discussing their work.

Antz has ugly animation but the story's a lot more interesting than A Bug's Life and Woody Allen was pretty funny in it.

I agree with your point about entertainment, but what would you say about something like, say, Grave of the Fireflies, which isn't trying to entertain, but is trying to deal with harsh truths in an accessible, thought-provoking manner? Entertainment is one purpose of art, but I don't think all art has to really work

@avclub-1b1f9a3e639ecc53f335314fc9d8403b:disqus , I don't blame you for liking Pattinson. He seems like a cool guy, his performance was one of the only things I found moderately enjoyable about the first Twilight film, and it sounds like he hates Twilight more than most people do.

I'm prepared to love this film, preachiness and tonal flaws and all, between stop-motion making everything that much cooler and the fact that apparently this is the first American children's film with an openly gay character, which is kind of amazing.

Yet Antz still turned out more interesting than A Bug's Life… *hides*

Coraline was great in 3D, so I assume this is as well.
