Shhh! No spoilers; don’t Jinx it!

Race is very important in this case because he specifically chose victims on the basis of their unlikelihood of being believed, and a major component of that was that they were black. It was unclear whether an all white jury would take the word of all black victims who were also poor and had criminal records over that

I too found his reaction jarring and chilling and sickening in a way I couldn’t quite articulate. A true monster, crying like a toddler, looking for sympathy. The distance between that tantrum and taking his punishment like an adult is just... stunning and enraging.

THESE WHITE TEARS GIVE ME THE LIFE FORCE OF A THOUSAND SUNS

The jury only found him guilty on half of the charges. Think about it: if only six women had come forward, he probably would have walked free.

No I mean the dirty rapist cop himself doesn’t think he committed a crime even though he was in a position where it’s easier to commit the crime.

he mouthed “i didn’t do it” at the end—i think in the direction of the jury. seems like the act of someone who’s convinced he didn’t commit a crime and that these girls wanted what he did with them. he’s scum for thinking that obviously. but i’m not so sure his tears are about taking responsibility so much as shock

I don't know. I think they lie to so many people and themselves so much that somehow they convince themselves they didn't really do it. Or find some justification to excuse themselves. It probably takes years of prison time for someone like that to actually take responsibility and realize what they did was wrong.

Disagree. We can celebrate justice because it happens so infrequently. You’re on Jez you know the rape conviction stats. Dirty cop conviction stats are pretty low as well. This guy isn’t anguished because he did horrible things, he is anguished because he got caught and he thought he was going to get off because he’s

Given that he combined his sobbing with incredulously asking the jury how they could possibly have found him guilty, I’m going to say there is absolutely zero chance he feels any remorse. His only regret is that he wasn’t allowed to serially rape vulnerable women with impunity.

I laughed at his crying. He looks like such a baby.

It’s very enjoyable, but I understand your trepidation. As an alternative, I highly recommend “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” which also deals with mental illness in a really frank, open manner, but is also a wonderfully sunny, charming TV series. Oh, and did I mention spontaneous musical numbers???

(this is coming from someone who loves tattoos and has 12 of them)

I hate the trend of having a fit over the trends of the moment and acting like your special because of it. There’s a sort of irony in this “I’m so above this, I don’t just do what everyone else does” that so fricking many people do. The trite culture of complaining about trite culture. If you don’t like it don’t do

This is possibly the most humorless thing I’ve read in a while. “#Adulting” is obviously a joke, meant to be taken as such. Most of the time I see it, it’s used by the person saying it to skewer themselves for being childish or lazy, not to garner praise.

I do not feel sorry for Rachel. She 100% did this to herself.

It seems to me that her best option is to maybe STFU for a bit, quit it with the media appearances and interviews and such and lay low for a while. People have short memories, so I doubt she’ll never be able to find work ever again if she would just, like, go away for a while. And maybe while she’s gone from the

Hahahah NO getting herpes from a celebrity in royal oak and then moving to NYC and suing them is the definition DUH

Yeah, but the key seems to be that the unnamed actor in the lawsuit had a residence in Royal Oak. Locals know that Ben Affleck was renting a loft there. Not sure where the other actors stayed/lived during filming, which took place in a few areas around Detroit, but Royal Oak is a pretty small community. Seems like
