It's gotten a little lost that he's a damn fine player himself. I'm a little tickled to know that on his next record he's doing more of the leads again.
"Regret #9" isn't bad, but I like the one on "Ancestral" better.
Sounds like he's doing more lead-playing on his next record himself.
I'd like to see it get a new Blu-ray upgrade. It was one of the first discs to come out for the format, and (at least domestically) has been the only one out up to now.
My running joke in it is that Kevin Costner at the end looks like what would have happened if Sting became a Vegas act after leaving The Police.
It was a great year for movies all around. Mulholland Dr., Royal Tenenbaums, Ali, Ocean's Eleven, A Beautiful Mind and quite a few more of course.
It's way more walk-and-talk than his other stuff, but it holds up much better than the article suggests. To be honest, I think Tony didn't really lose his nerve until Domino.
I'm a bit delighted that Hopscotch is getting a Blu-ray upgrade in August.
I love those. They recently had the guy who was the kid brother in Squid And The Whale. Seems like a nice dude, but still looks a little creepy.
I'm sure it surprised him that not only was he white, but a dead ringer for David Lynch.
I really wonder if one of the reasons he killed himself was because he saw this coming.
They were better songwriters than improvisers.
Warren Haynes played it on a series of shows he did with a rhythm section and a full orchestra playing Dead songs.
I read a Rolling Stone article on this, and it would seem that this tells the whole sordid story, including the darker parts about drug abuse and specifically Jerry's inability to come to terms with being seen as an avatar to a lot of lost, drugged-out people.
I'd imagine it was as bad for different reasons elsewhere in more conservative states, especially concerning the DEA or local yokel cops wanting to front a huge drug bust.
Ron Cobb also helped design the time machine elements of the DeLorean in Back To The Future, and was set to direct ET originally but Spielberg essentially bought him out to do it himself.
Around the time of Prometheus I kind of reconciled how what seems dated now could work within that universe. The Nostromo is essentially a big rig in space, and W-Y might have cut corners where necessary, including using outdated equipment.
#27 composed music for the upcoming Ken Burns series on Vietnam. I'm sure if you told anybody 20 years ago that the "fuck you like an animal" guy would be working with the director of The Civil War and Baseball, they'd look at you pretty funny.
I'm positive the Godfather films have been on both those services. More likely to find Citizen Kane on TCM.
