It's not at all a reboot— it's just a trip farther down the time spiral from the previous movies. Time travel happened, so information to change the war get sent through the next time loop, which degrades and a tangent universe/timeline gets created.

I think it's more of a Total Recall.

Just a time travel reboot. All it requires is someone traveling back to before the events of first movie.

Yeah Edge of Tomorrow was the biggest surprise of the year for me. I really really like that movie. The editing and time travel stuff is really well done. As was the "using aspects of video game mechanics" vs "Showing gamers as creeps" in movies like Gamer.

I am sooooooo tired of that frakkin' word...'reboot'. Anyone utters that word to me in person, I'm likely to put a size 8 and 1/2 black combat boot up their ass!

No, not a reboot. A reboot implies the original things never happened, but they clearly did. But skynet did something that changed it. That's all in the trailer.

Yeah, I think they're going for some cool ideas. It looks promising! I like the cerebral aspects of movies like that and Edge of Tomorrow. No hand holding either!
